    • A great little air fryer toaster convection oven
We have gone through a number of air fryer ovens, from a little 7qt to a 28qt with several sizes in between. What we discovered is the bigger the oven the more versatile it is. We are quite happy with the 28qt air flyer oven that we currently use but when offered the chance to review the Midea French Door Toaster Oven, we couldn't resist. The Midea has a 26.4qt capacity and is slightly smaller than our current air fryer. However, the Midea is more square in shape and a half inch deeper than our current air fryer which is rectangular. We found this shape to be more practical and the increased depth, even if only a half inch, made it possible to fit some things that could not put into our old oven. We also like the swing open door versus the drop down door on our current oven because we're less likely to accidentally burn our forearms on the door. We initially thought that the Midea would be more difficult to use than our current oven because the controls are completely different. However, we found it to be just as easy if not easier to use. So far the oven has performed very well and we have not had any surprises. Food cooks exactly as we expect it too if you follow instructions. The Midea does not have a preheat setting like our current oven but we found it that if wasn't really required. Just pop the food in and start cooking without the preheat. If you feel the need for more heat, just turn on the convection and things really start to cook. We haven't tested all the features yet but are more than satisfied with the Midea and it will probably replace our current air fryer oven. ... show more

To start, I'll say that I am enjoying the addition of this multi-function air fryer to my kitchen. Fundamentally, I can't deny that we are finding it quite useful. We haven't previously owned an air fryer, so having that option versus microwaving is worth it alone. Beyond that, the toaster function works better than our expensive toaster and the bake/reheat functions have been perfect for cooking small meals or reheating leftovers without the sliminess of microwave cooking. Aesthetically, the oven looks great in our kitchen. The stainless steel design, French doors, and modern foot print look right at home on our countertop. It is sizeable and does take up some space - about the size of a medium-sized microwave - but we are fortunate to have enough room to accommodate. The pans and accessories didn't strike me as the best quality, but they are useful and it is easy to find replacements of better quality and versatility. But maybe the biggest quandary I have with this device is the user interface (UI). The display screen is (mostly) easy enough to understand, but the need for six buttons and a dial is excessive. With very little effort, the engineers of this oven could have easily consolidated function and control to two buttons and a dial. In fact, I've become so accustomed to the dial control being multi-function (more than just spin, that is), that I was surprised it couldn't be used to select and navigate function. Instead, you set the oven by turning the dial, then selecting confirm and number of times before pushing a separate start button. This series of button presses is incredibly inefficient if not outright confusing. Compounding the issue, the individual settings for each of the function types are not always intuitive and settings are not saved between uses. This is particularly annoying when having to reset the settings every time you make toast. One other important point to note is that the French door design, albeit quite attractive, does seem to create some heat leak. Perhaps this is intended as I have not had any issue with food being undercooked, but I have noticed that the seam between the doors does vent a lot of heat. But aside from these relatively minor issues, I will reiterate that we have been finding this oven very useful. The controls are taking some time to get used to, but the convenience of being able to quickly cook small meals for my wife and I without having to fire-up our regular oven has been quite nice. Overall, I think it's a fair value and would be a useful addition to any kitchen. Happy to recommend. ... show more

    • Some regrets
Disappointing considering the price. It does not toast well. I flip it 1/2 way through process, but neither side is really "toasty". Might do a better job if I took crumb tray out, but that sort of defeats its' purpose. And you have to turn it to darkest setting to getting any sort of toasting. Also dismayed to discover you cannot turn it off. The on/off switch only pauses it to off. It will only run the course of original settings, you can't make adjustments once the cooking process starts and if you're done cooking before allotted time, it's going to keep on running. Not sure about the air fry - this is my first experience. If this is typical air fryer, I do not understand what all the excitement is about. I'm keeping it because I don't want hassle of returning. I do like having a 2nd oven for keeping things warm while using my real oven to cook. I might even, over time, discover what all the fuss is about on air frying. What I'm seeing so far, not impressed and regret my purchase. ... show more

This oven literally does it ALL. I am so amazed at how versatile it is. Everything we have cooked on the different settings has come out amazing. This is the best air fryer I have ever used, it truly gives the food that crispy bite as if it were actually fried. It is also a very attractive appliance and looks amazing on our counter. The only downside is that it does get quite hot. It’s been rough using it during the summer but it will be perfect in the cold winter. I absolutely love this oven. ... show more
