Features

  • Upgraded Hand Operated WinderImproved the operation that previously required manual thread pulling by adding a thread guide, making threading more stable. The double swing arms design maintains balance while creating a circular motion, eliminating any sense of imbalance or unevenness. You can easily wind a beautiful yarn cake on the lever with just one hand!
  • Faster Winding SpeedAdded a Transmission Gear, allowing the winding speed to be 3-4 times faster than the regular model. The high-quality metal Transmission Gear, coupled with an ultra-hard, high-quality ABS main gear, significantly enhances the efficiency of winding.
  • Large Yarn CapacityThis simple yarn ball winder is suitable for most yarns and enables the rapid formation of center pull yarn cake in a short time. It is especially suitable for threads with a diameter of 1 mm or below, and can wind up to 280 g or 10-16 ounces of yarn.
  • Easy to Set UpThe upgraded yarn guide makes installation and use easier. To use, install the winding machine on the table and secure it by tightening the button. Thread the wire through the wire guide, balancing arm, and wire spool in sequence, then release the yarn by rotating the wheel, eventually forming a beautiful ball.
  • Perfect ChoiceOur yarn winder is perfect for various occasions, including factories, households, DIY studios, and electric yarn winding. Its versatility makes it an ideal choice for professionals and enthusiasts alike.

  • Easy and Fast Winding
The Double Swing Arm Hand-Operated Metal Yarn Winder comes partially disassembled. It includes extra hardware, instructions, and a small screwdriver. The instructions have pictures and are printed large enough that I did not need a magnifying glass. Assembly is simple and only involves four screws and two nuts. The steel that holds the gears is very heavy-duty. The steel that forms the tensioner arm is lighter but still plenty tough for the task it performs. I found that a crochet needle can help feed bulky yarn through the big white plastic disk that leads to the spring-loaded tensioner. Something I initially did not see is that the hole in the spring-loaded tensioner has a slot. Therefore, you do not need to feed the yarn through the hole. You just slide it sideways through the slot. The other guide arms all use twisted wire, allowing you to rotate the yarn through the twist instead of feeding through the hole. This is the same technique many sewing machines use for their thread path. It really helps to mount the yarn winder on a solid surface because once you start cranking, it winds really fast and creates vibration. I was interested in this yarn winder because yarn manufacturers usually make it incredibly difficult to locate the end of the yarn to pull from the center of a skein. I have watched videos that show how to locate the tail, and they make it look so easy. But they are not buying the brands of yarn that I buy. I have tried to find the tail on dozens of skeins. 95% of the time I end up having to pull out many yards of yarn from the center before locating the tail. This frustrating problem could have easily been avoided if the manufacturer had just left a little hanging out of the center. But they won't listen to me or the thousands of other frustrated customers. So, now I can put the skein in a bucket and unwind it into a perfect cake using this yarn winder. I was floored at how fast this winder works. It is amazingly fast. There were three things I had to watch for. First, if a tangled clump of yarn is drawn up to the first hole, it will stop you. You need to untangle it. Second, if there is any tension with the yarn coming off the skein, it will make the winding too difficult, and the yarn will be overly tensioned in the cake. Lastly, the entire tensioner arm tends to vibrate in a swinging motion when you are winding too aggressively. So, you may need to slow down just a bit. There is a wax spool to use on the tensioner. I am not sure why it is wax. I did not want wax on my yarn. So, I did not use it and did not notice any problems. I wound a skein of bulky yarn into a cake and was pleased to find that the cake takes up less space than the skein. This will free up drawer space when I wind the other skeins I have stored. I am pleased with this yarn winder. It is easy to use, fast and does a great job. ... show more
