I’m learning to read the piano grand clef, and needed to keep the thick, bound music book open while I read the notes and play them. I looked at all kinds of clips and other possibilities, but felt this would handle the job the best. This stainless steel clip has a lovely smooth finish, and a Treble Clef sign graces it at the top. The clip is thinner than I expected but it is strong enough, and thickness is not an issue. If you open the book to the place you want to read, just insert the right and left middle prongs between a few of the right and left pages. The right and left outer prongs should be resting on top of the two open pages., and will hold the pages open. This way, it will work well and as intended, on any book whether thick or thin. ... show more

I am an experienced pianist but have been struggling for years with keeping pages open without the added benefit of someone standing there turning the pages for you, or going through the bother of laying heavier music on top of your pages so they stay open, etc. Then what do you do when you have to turn the page?? This is gorgeous! Well-made, elegant, sophisticated for all levels of pianists.     • Very durable and works as intended
I am currently studying piano and bought this clip to use for some music books for beginner songs. This holds even bigger books very well. It's very sturdy and have had no issues with it. It is a little long however and sometimes the clips go over the piano notes so I have to move the clip up a little bit. That is okay but it's not as sturdy when I do that because the clip needs to be down further to really hold the book in place. Also, if you need to turn the page you obviously cannot do that with this clip as it keeps the page in place so I would recommend you move the right side of the clip the last page of the song you want to play so you can manually turn the pages when needed. ... show more

As someone who has played piano for many years and struggled with keeping pages open, I NEVER knew such a great piece as the Music Book Clip by Stelle &Hegen existed. Not only is it the answer to fussing with pages that will not stay open, but it is truly a beautiful piece.
