Much better than trying to wave a full blown metal detector around trying to find what beeped. Holster is a big worthless, as it's too rigid. Could use a scraper on the back to help root around a bit. Perfect for what it's advertised to do.

Dropped my small post box key on front(concrete ) step and thought it would be right there to pickup,but after looking for a few minutes knew it must have bounced off the concrete and into the grass in front of step. After looking around the step it felt like it vanished into nothingness. Looked on Amazon for an inexpensive metal detector and saw the Hompo for 23.00. Got some good reviews and received in two days. Waved it back and forth in front of the step and it started beeping in a tuft of grass . There it was. What a relief.
