After the cable company decided to replace all my DVRs with new ones, I realized how much I depended on the clock which was conspicuously missing from the new units. I needed something relatively small but easy to read from across the room. I ordered two of these clocks, one for the living room and one for the bedroom. They fit perfectly and are really easy to read, even without glasses for the myopic among us. The numerals are large and the color can be easily changed to meet your needs, from rainbow to white. I picked green for the living room, not too intrusive, but visible. For the bedroom I picked blue and dimmed it down so as not to brighten a darkened room. Each can be made brighter or dimmer, depending on your need. It has an alarm but I haven't tried that since I'm retired and have no need of one. It has a power cord, which some clocks didn't. It has a nighlight in the back if needed but no battery back up. The dark black box seems to disappear, leaving only the numbers to focus on.     • Perhaps The Best Digital Alarm Clock Ever!

This is a great clock for the following reasons. 1st - It has unlimited illumination settings. This is nice as many other clocks only have 3-5 brightness settings, and other clocks are generally too bright for me. #2 - Nice big white numerals that are easy to read in the day or night. #3 - I didn't see this one coming, but it's got a touch-sensitive bar on top that activates a white LED light on the back of the clock. This is super nice when you need some modest light in the middle of the night. Having the light on the back of the clock means you don't get blinded by the light in the middle of the night. I don't use the alarm feature since I use my phone for that, but I checked, and the alarm is easy to set up. If I ever need another digital alarm clock, I'll order this exact model again. ... show more

This is a digital clock that is simple and effective. No extra stuff on the face just the digits. Easy to adjust easy to program. Love that you can change the brightness of the time read out. Digits are nice and big, easy to read from the other side of the room

Love the color combinations, lights, super easy to set the time. Snooze button doubles as a switch to light up the back and if you want to use it as its intended function as an alarm clock, the light helps keep you awake. Put batteries in the back so it keeps track of time if it ever gets accidentally unplugged or power goes out. The batteries will not keep it lit but it does get power from a USB A to barrel jack so it can be plugged into a regular battery bank. It also has a USB A and USB C port on the back so if you have limited outlets, you can have more plugged in the back but it won’t be super powerful charging, those ports are still getting power from the units USB A plug. I just don’t like that when you set it to a solid color option and dim it all the way down so it’s not so bright at night, you get this obnoxious bright “low dimmer” light. Let’s compare this to if every time you put your phone on silent it screamed at full volume “PHONE IS NOW SILENT”. There’s no reason a low dimmer light needs to exist. Thankfully if you turn the brightness up just enough that it’s not all the way down, that light goes off. But again, why is it there in the first place? ... show more

This clock comes with a 5v power supply that plugs in to the clock. Any USB charger and a couple of USP plug configurations will work There is a rotary brightness knob that will adjust the screen to be easily visible in daylight to almost off. The alarm volume is also fully adjustable. We bought two, one for each nightstand. Great clocks at a great price. Update: After several weeks of owning this clock I am surprised at how often I use the night light feature. A slight tap to the top of the clock turns it on, another tap to turn it off. Its all the light I need to get ready for bed or to find something on your night stand. ... show more

UPDATE2: Received a replacement unit today and what an improvement! Never realized how compromised the original unit was until I saw how this replacement clock has performed. All segments are lit brightly, no bleed over into the other areas, and now I'm happy. Still going to keep this rated at 3 stars as there is apparently a risk of getting a defective clock is real. UPDATE: Dim LED segment (upper right vertical segment of the rightmost digit) is now dead. Ordering a replacement, returning this defective unit, and crossing my fingers it was a one off problem. ORIGINAL: Don't plan on using this as an alarm clock; just need to replace an older clock in our family room that has old DST logic in it that changes the time at the wrong times of year now. Pros: the digits are LARGE - no squinting to see what time it is. Brightness of the display is adjustable. Price is very reasonable. Cons: quality is a little suspect. I've noticed that the segments of display digits that are lighted tend to illuminate small portions of adjacent segments, so the display isn't as crisp visually as it should be. A bit confusing to set up and get time adjusted. Icons on buttons didn't quite do what I expected them to do, so it took a few attempts before I could figure out how to set the time. Not sure how I kept doing it, but I kept lighting up the night light while I was attempting to set the time. The power cord is very thin; not a fan of the USB-based power cord. The plug that needs to go into an outlet is bigger than a normal plug, so if you're plugging it into a power strip, it requires an outlet that has some distance from the others in order to fit. It doesn't appear to calculate DST settings or time setting automatically from what I can tell. With all that said, you can't argue with the price. ... show more
