Great idea, but simply bad design here: The center hole in which you're supposed to insert a wood pencil is way, way too small... Sure, the wood pencil can fit (really tight), but then the lead doesn't poke on the other side! Can't make a mark on anything. Sure, you can use it for 1/4", 1/2" and various other marks, but don't plan to use it to mark the center of a long piece of wood. Limited use..... If I hadn't already given one to my friend, I would have shipped them back. ... show more

    • It works
As a knockoff of the more expensive devices, it works pretty good. It's not a precision instrument but as long as you're looking for "close is good enough" you won't be disappointed. The machining is OK so some of the offsets are a little rough. the center scribe is pretty good as long as you use a sharp, correct size pencil.
