I was surprised that these Melamine dishes looked so similar to my stoneware. I remembered the old "plastic" dishes that we used for picnics and these are certainly nothing like the old "melamine". The colors are vivid and each piece has just enough weight and thickness to make them attractive enough for company. This is such a beautiful set of dinnerware. It is sturdy and light. The dinner plate is a really nice size almost 11 inches and just lovely to look at. It has a slight dip but not enough for the food to slide together. Just a stunning setting for sure. I wish there were coffee cups to match! Debbiej

I absolutely love the plates, they're sturdy and thick. I must have misread where they are a hard plastic and not ceramic because I wanted ceramic but that's okay, I won't have to worry about them breaking. They handle the dishwasher very well. Idk how many runs I've done and they're all still fine and no coloring has faded. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because I ordered 2 of the same set and only got one set I wanted. The other set was completely different a beach/seashell theme when I only ordered the turquoise/black. I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning them as I just moved into my new place, so I kept them. They are really nice but very disappointed I got the wrong set. I wanted 8 of what I chose but got 4. BUMMER but they're worth buying again. Hopefully I'll get what I orderd! ... show more

These plates are beautiful and durable. They look like porcelain plates until you pick them up. They have held up in the microwave, they haven’t been tried in the dishwasher yet, So can’t comment on that.
