I used it almost immediately after knee surgery. I can't say for sure my scar looks better because of it however the scar has been improving and looks pretty good for a large scar. I have been using it a year and will continue to use it on that scar and other scars probably for another year to see what improvement there is to older scars. ... show more

Maderma is an awesome product that I have purchased before in retail stores and used with success. I have tried scar away and was unhappy with the product as it never seemed to dry as promised. Maderma dries in 5 minutes or less so you can put clothing on over the affected area. I keloid and this was recommended by my dermatologist to help reduce scaring.. I gave the product 4 stars because of shipping issues. The second shipment came properly sealed and unopened. So I have changed my review to reflect that. Previous review stated I purchased this new large container of Advanced Scar Repair from the maderma store on Amazon, but received a product that had already been opened. The shipping container was sealed with no damage so it had to have been sent to me that way. Super disappointed. I am putting the product on a newly healed large surgical scar so I’m not willing to risk contamination or quality issues. I sent the product back for refund and ordered a new one. ... show more

First of all, DO NOT USE this gel on your OPEN SCARS. My doctor recommended this gel but warned me "do not use it on this gel on open scar" After your scar is healed, put this gel at night(because.... when this gel is dried, it is peeled off as dead skin. looks bad).     • Could Make You Itch
I bought his after a breast reduction surgery. It had an odd odor to it but applied easily and dried quickly so you can just apply it and get dressed with minimal waiting. I don't consider myself to have sensitive skin. However, it made me itch. Really itch. I itched so bad I was constantly rubbing my skin and couldn't even sleep. If you buy this, I advise using it once in a small area before slathering yourself with it like I did. I have a scar from my neckline down to under my breast line and I cannot believe how much this cream has helped. The scar is so much lighter that I feel comfortable wearing lower-cut shirts. It has made me feel less conscience! So glad I tried it.
