The media could not be loaded. I built a waterfall/Filter & a rock creek bed that runs 55 feet back into my pond. This is the 3rd pump I've tried & none of the other pumps were strong enough to pump water 55 feet up the hill. This pump has NO problem lifting the water to my waterfall. This pump did NOT come with the proper attachments to connect to a garden hose.. but I salvaged the correct fitting from one of the first 2 pumps that weren't stron enough. Now I gave this pump a 5 star review just because I'm so happy to finally see my waterfall work the way I intend... however this is only day 1 of using it. This little submersible pump saved me over $1,300. Had a pool company come out to see about fixing my pump and they quoted me $1,450 just for pumping out, pressure washing and refilling the pool - not even touching the pump or the pipes. When I asked why it would be so expensive, he replied it was because "submersible pumps aren't cheap." I bought this pump, emptied the pool in about 3 hours, had it pressure washed in another 2 and refilled the next day. Getting the pool pump running was nominal. ... show more

This pump stopped working the VERY first time I used it. It lasted about 15 minutes. I have an in-ground vinyl liner pool (popular in CA so as to not crack the pool in earthquakes). During rain, if the pool gets too much water in it and it breaches the seal at the top of the liner, it will cause the entire liner to detach from the sides of the pool with the liner ending up at the bottom of the pool. The repairs for this are several thousand dollars. It's quite the process: there's sand behind the liner and it has to be rebuilt up and smoothed up, then the liner stretched over all of it -- this is only AFTER the entire pool has been drained. I bought this pump to prevent this from happening. It has been torrentially raining in California as the nation has seen and observed the government issued "State of Emergency" declarations for many areas - I'm in one of them. I NEEDED this pump to work and I relied on it. It failed me and caused damage to the liner. Sure enough, water had gotten behing the liner. It hasn't collapsed yet, but it will. It's already pulled away from the sides/top of the pool in areas. DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP. It is beyond comprehension that something would only work for 15 minutes. I thought perhaps it was the electrical cord that I'd used. I switched that out to try another one with the same result. Obviously, this told me it was the pump. I bought this to specifically empty my hot tub. That's all it had to do for me. It worked very well, It is light, easy, to set up and use and worked as advertised. The only recommendation I have is to buy a 1 1/2 flexible hose used to drain pools or other water as a garden hose does not do as well. The power of this unit is adequate but not enough for pumping water through small hoses over a long distance OR pumping water up any height. But for my purpose with a 1 1/2 flexible hose on a hot tub it earned five stars. It drained the hot tub to less than an inch of water which was easy to remove with a shop vac. A good value for the money for this purpose. I can't review for other uses. ... show more

I bought this to replace the 1/6th HP sump pump I bought from a hardware store locally. I was skeptical about the claims, but after comparing the flow rate to the old pump, I can see I was not decieved. I am using it to drain a 11,000 Gallon pool, and the old pump took a day and a half. This one drained it in a few hours. They give you a bunch of fittings for whatever hose you are using. Good value, curious to see how it holds up over time. ... show more

Here’s a way to make it work with hoses and it’s not bad. You can easily service it if it gets clogged but it is cheaply made.

I was searching for a pump for my pool to drain it more efficiently so I can clean it. Came across this and gave it a shot. I was not disappointed, it did its jump with ease. The pump isn’t loud and it didn’t over heat. It was easy to clean after it was done. The performance was amazing.
