Description

Factory pre-charge: 38 psi (pounds per square inch). Maximum working pressure 100 psi. Maximum operating temperature 200 F (degree Fahrenheit). Engineered to provide years of trouble-free service using cold rolled steel for a higher strength to weight ratio. Rugged, stable steel base with protective plastic strip. Heavy-duty butyl rubber diaphragm and durable polyolefin liner to prevent corrosion. Water worker tanks feature an appliance quality finish which is resistant to sunlight and harsh conditions. All tanks are completely lead free for safety. Meets NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) Standard 61 for clean, safe drinking water. 5 year . Blue tank. From the Manufacturer The WaterWorker pre-charged tanks utilize a butyl composite diaphragm, which flexes up and down based on water level and air pressure, as the pump fills the tank with water the air above the diaphragm is compressed, increasing the pressure in the tank until the pump cut-off pressure is reached. When water is drawn from the tank, the pressure inside the tank decreases until the pressure switch starts the pump. The amount of usable water for every pump cycles is called drawdown. The greater drawn-down capacity you select, the less your pump cycles saving energy, money, and extending your pump life. Advantages over galvanized well tanks: Pre-charged tanks do not have water-logging problems like the galvanized tanks. The air and water are totally separated using a diaphragm. No external air controls needed. Pre-charged tanks have a much larger draw-down for the same physical size. Larger draw down reduces pump cycles and pump wear, i.e. at 30/50 PSIG range three times the draw-down for pre-charged tanks of the same physical size. Pre-charged Tanks completely empty during each pump cycle. Pre-charged Tanks are much smaller and easier to handle that galvanized well tanks. Pre- charged tanks with a 30/50 Pressure Switch would be one-third the size of a galvanized tank with the same drawdown. Deep Well Jet Pumps could use either a vertical tank or a horizontal tank, depending on space requirements and sizing. Submersible Pump applications would usually use vertical tanks, again based on proper sizing. Shallow Well Jet Pumps could use vertical or horizontal tanks, based on proper sizing. The rule of thumb in sizing is to count the number of fixtures in the home, i.e. sinks, showers, toilets, dishwasher, faucets, washing machines, outside faucets, etc. and multiply it by 3. Example: a house with 11 fixtures x 3 would be 33-Gallon tank. We would suggest our 44-Gallon tank, which is the next larger sized tank.

  • Impressed with this Tank, so far. Freestanding and no bracket to attach pump but.. the price was right!
Size: 20 Gallon
I installed it about a month ago, replacing a Flotec 42 Gal tank w bladder (reusable bladder $108!) because I never checked the air! Be sure to check the air once a year after draining and relieving the pressure. 2 lbs less than the cut on (the lower number, 20/40, 30/50) pressure setting. If you don't and the air gets low it can cause 'short cycling' of the pump which will cause it to overheat and fail. It happened in the middle of the night when my water softener was 'back washing'. That's what happened to me on a real HOT day! Murph was all over me!! Everything happens at the Worst time, putting the vice grips on your financial mental health! My awesome StaRite Pump bit the dust. Replaced it with a Flotec 4012 pump 30/50 1/2HP. So far, so good. The WW tank seems well made, the fitting is metal, on the box there is a cross reference capacity guide on other manufactured tanks you might be replacing, the air inlet has a formidable screw cap. The finish is quality but don't get any of that PVC cement on the finish as it will take it off. I plan on having plenty of spare fittings, and a backup pump and tank cuz prices have doubled since I replaced the whole setup 8 years ago and I hate running around like a crazy man and suffering from price shock! I prefer well water to Municipal water, might have a little iron, calcium, etc but it tastes good, like the old spring water people use to travel miles to fill their jugs with. Only 4 Stars because it hasn't stood the test of time. Murph is forcing me to learn well pump ways! But what's more important than WATER!? And when you don't have it, life SUCKS. This tank has a diaphragm which can't be replaced so it's disposable when it fails..but the price was about ..($108 new Flotec bladder, )I paid $119, which incidentally I paid for the Flotec tank in 2005, now $239 plus! A good Deal at this price. ... show more

  • Superior performance
Size: 20 Gallon
Easily installed this unit to replace an older bladder tank. It’s half the size and almost a quarter of the weight of old tank but performs equally if not better. My pump cycles less often and I have constant pressure to all my faucets. Installation was simple. If you can do basic plumbing fixes, you can install this tank. It’s very lightweight and the setup instructions were simple to follow. Highly recommend. ... show more
