My cat is very, very, very obsessed with clawing up door frames, and I came to the conclusion that she was wanting to scratch something in my hallway (she has cat trees with tall scratchers by windows, but none in the hall) where she could get a nice full body stretch, and the two scratching posts nearby were both too short for that. I’m happy to announce that this scratching post (I got the tallest size) does reach the height of the destruction on the doorframe, and while she hasn’t entirely stopped scratching the doorframes, she does sometimes choose to go for this scratching post instead. Here’s to hoping that will keep increasing over time! Generally speaking, the fabric parts are soft, the ropey material is fine, and it was really quick and easy to put together - took less than five minutes. My cat doesn’t care about the ball on the spring, but I’m sure some cats would like it. I did have to cut off the elastic string and ball on the top, though, because my kitty likes to chew through elastic, and I didn’t want her breaking it off and eating the elastic while I was gone. Something to be aware of if you have a cat as silly about elastic as me! I haven’t tried attaching the little brush/scratchy pad because I just wanted to get it quickly put together for my kitty, but it’s nice that it’s an option and I might add it on later. I fully plan on getting another one of these whenever this one needs replacing or if I move to a bigger place with more doorframes to try to protect! ... show more

It even comes with a little bag of catnip that makes it even more irresistible to them. I’m so thankful for this tree because without it, I can't imagine what my furniture would look like! Since my cat enjoys the Post, I just bought a second one for another location for my cat to use. Easy assembly, took about 5 minutes to unpack and put together. It comes with this plastic "face scratcher" that the cat can rub their face on. That piece just velcro around the Post, however, I put one of the face scratchers on a table leg. You can see how much hair the face scratcher grabs, in one of my photos. My cat loves to rub her cheeks on it. That is nice they include such an item. The Post itself is stable and tall enough for my large, adult cat to get a good stretch when she scratches the Post. Fair price and a good product. ... show more

The cats love it. It doesn't take up much room but it gets lots of love and scratches from the sharp little cat claws. The blue is pretty and it's very sturdy, even with my 3-year-old leaning and sitting on it all the time. My only complaint is that the dangly ball came off almost immediately. Ready to put on.the floor in ten.minutes. Sturdy wide base covered with fabric and both sections of the pole itself was tightly covered with sisal. It's not huge, but almost 3 feet tall. Our youngest cat was right there as I put it together and once I decided where to place it she raced up the side and perched on the narrow top batting one of the 3 attached balls. Her mom, a chunky cat, didn't climb but happily stood up to scratch the sisal. A bit of catnip was included which both cats loved. So maybe couch and chairs a few feet away will not get the scratches this scratching post will get. It replaced one of those tight compressed cardboard scratching pads which both cats also loved, but in two weeks flecks of cardboard were everywhere. So this purchase is a great improvement at a modest price. Since the pole is made of two pieces it seems possible to just use one piece for a shorter scratching post for less agile cats and for kittens. Because they were inexpensive I plan to buy two others to place in other rooms And since I already have a tall cat tree covered in sisal I know it takes a whole lot of scratching to work through a sisal covered pole or tree. Date: 09/12/2024 Just received and it's great. So easy to put together. Here are my cats Loki and Milo very interested. I got the one for Adult Cats in color Beige. Comes with a brush you can attach to the post or anything else like staircase. Will update if it starts falling apart or anything, but first impression is that it looks durable so hopefully it keeps up. It reaches 2-3 inches below my hip and I'm 5'2" (157.5 cm). ... show more
