Very clear sound almost as good as my littmann 4 cardiology and definitely better that my Littmann 3! I love the MDF acoustica so much I bought 2 for the price! I was curious as to the MD one. I am a nursing student and I am in clinicals a lot. I keep back up stethoscopes due to the fact my friends will leave theirs at home. If I have a less critical patient who has no cardiology issues I tend to switch out my cardiology 4 for an MDF acoustica because it’s less heavy around my neck and I can still auscultation lung and bowel sounds and get accurate vitals. The MD one is great and I was pleasantly surprised. If you do not wish to spend an arm and a leg on a high quality littman but still want the quality sound hands down go with the MD One! It is heavier than the acoustica, but the sound quality is there. No static or noise from rubbing! I was pleasantly surprised! If you have issues with stethoscopes growing legs and walking away MDF provides engraving on their titanium models, or you can buy an acoustica with the thicker tubing provided for the MD one. I have an acoustica with the thicker tubing it has better quality sound for around 48$. While I will always carry a littmann,MDF stethoscopes are competent pieces of equipment for a fraction of the price! ... show more

So I've practiced medicine for a couple decades and have been happy with my first and only stethoscope every, a Littman Master Cardiology 2. When my wife became an EMT this year, I tried what they had given her and found that not only could I hear nothing, the hard plastic ear pieces hurt. I wanted to get her something great but not lay out a couple hundred for it. I always thought, you get what you pay for. With the MD One, that's a lot. I've tried using it on a number of days and side by side with the Littman. Sound quality is great and captures both highs and lows. Not much noise from tube movement or spring, like old Sprague Rappaport designs. While it lacks the panache of the premium Littman, as well as it's heft, it more than makes up for it in it's abilities, lighter weight, and price. The MD One is not a "cheaper version" of a better tool nor is it a compromise in any way. It is an excellent choice for an all around stethoscope that should last as long as any others costing twice the price. Had I not received my Master Cardiology as a gift, early in my career, I may well have chosen the MDF instead. I have no regrets having presented my wife with it and have been impressed by its quality, design, and function. ... show more
