  • Easy to Assemble and Affordable
Material Type: L (for 3.5' or wider) Style: 25pcs
I have these over several of my garden beds to cover them with frost protection. Very affordable, easy to assemble, and can remove them very easily. Happy with purchase and would recommend.

  • They do the job mostly
We started our first ever raised bed garden and we had a cold front coming through. I bought these to hold up a cover over one of the garden beds, since my plants are still young. They’re essentially sticks that you connect together - you NEED to connect 4 or more sticks for them to bend. The stick itself doesn’t bend all that much. It’s fairly easy to connect but it gets a little trickier when you put it in the ground. Having a barrier of sorts (like a raised garden bed) is a great help so the ends are kept closer together and the connected stick stays bent. Having said that, they might lean once you get them bent. For our 4x6 foot beds, we used around 5 sticks for each one to go above the tomato plants. The super lightweight cloth made one lean over, though it didn’t fall, so there’s that. By morning, 2 were leaning over due to the wind, but neither fell over completely, but one stick did pop out straight on one end. The other end was still stuck in the ground; only the weight of the fabric with the fasteners was keeping it down. Overall, it’s okay. Better than nothing, but not great, either. I don’t regret the purchase as it’s cheaper than some other alternatives. Plus, it was hard finding something that fit our garden beds so I like how you can customize these without paying a small fortune. We also have 2x10 foot beds, though those were empty at the time. If I were more seasoned at gardening and see myself doing this for years, I’d look into something more sturdy/permanent and reliable. ... show more

  • Good modular system for plant crop hoops
Every gardener has this problem. We all plant our little baby seedlings in our beds and then, some animal or weather event comes around. So the solution is to put up a hoop to protect them in their kindergarten stage. There are loads of solutions out there. I chose this solution because I wanted a modular system that I could easily disassemble and put away in a small box to be used for the next season. I don't have space for big PVC hoop systems. My plants wouldn't appreciate being smushed in that hoop system ... especially when what I'm planting is a tomato plant or a bean plant or something that likes to grow big and tall. I also wanted something aesthetically pleasing. I have to see it and that means I need to make it look pleasing. Otherwise, it will just annoy me. I don't want a plumbing system in my back yard. I've successfully used this with the clips they provide. I bought two packages because I have a lot of area to cover. It was very very simple to assemble and it was very very easy to attach my row covers/netting onto these fiberglass rods. They've survived one season and I see no deterioration of the product. No rust. No cracks. Nothing. I suspect I will be able to use this product for a very long time. the one issue that I had was with the flopping. My solution was just to wedge some rocks to hold the ends of the hoop. A low tech, very cheap solution. Also, even if the hoop falls, it can't hurt the seedling. That's a plus. I'd rather sacrifice the hoop than a plant. Remember, when we plan our gardens we need to be aware that those plants will grow. So flexibility in a garden is a very good thing. I'm very happy. I was so happy that I bought this product twice. ... show more

  • Parts everywhere!
Material Type: M (for 2.5'-3.5' wide) Style: 50pcs
This is my first time doing row covers so it may be partial operator error. I set them all up and they looked beautiful. I weighed down the edges of the fabric, had a nice arch with the hoops, and made sure they were nice and secure in the ground. We got a slight wind and they started popping up. This is not the issue I have with the product. The problem is that when they pop up the pieces fly everywhere. I have had to fix the rows three times and every time I am on the hunt for all of the pieces. Not only that but the remaining pieces have punctured through my covers. So I have a big mess. I am removing all of these and switching to the rebar PVC pipe method ASAP!! A one piece system seems way sturdier and less of a hassle. I wanted to like this. ... show more

These things held up to our Northeast Texas Winds coming in from OK and AR - we live on a ranch and so lots of open spaces and the winds are brutal. These things are amazing.

  • Buyer Beware
The description says that this item "comes with 50 large-diameter hoops." It does not. The 50-piece option will not give you 50 "greenhouse hoops." It will give you 50 17-inch sections. No greenhouse hoop can be made with less than 3 sections (or they will break [note: it may actually break with 3, it suggests 4 per hoop]). Plan for 4 sections per hoop. The 50-piece version will give you 12 hoops. The 25-piece option will give you 6 greenhouse hoops. That's quite a difference from the "50 large-diameter greenhouse hoops" it promises. The fiberglass sections are hard and pretty inflexible. They bend only the tiniest bit. I will be careful and gentle with them. ... show more

  • Easily break when a little weight is applied
These work great if you don't have any wildlife (or roaming domestic) that think they can land on, or sit on them; then they just snap like twigs. I used these along with a garden blanket to protect my seedlings from early spring over-night temp drops. Unfortunately, the birds kept landing on the loops and breaking them. Cats also jump from the fence to the floating covers causing both the loops to break and cover to tear. I'm a bit disappointed them break so easily (under the weight of the birds). ... show more
