The milk frother does not come with its own base. It shares a base with the whisk. To use the whisk, you need to pull out the milk frother stick. It’s a bit tough the first time. Just yank. You won’t break it. It gets easier after time. The device itself is good for the price. I had really high hopes for this product but it was nothing but it was extremely disappointing. First of all this was literally the only thing I ordered myself for Christmas and it broke the first time I used it. It comes with the frother already stuck inside. It says it's like every other mixer but I couldn't get it out or even to budge. My boyfriend eventually did and we got the whisk in it. But then trying to use the blade I didn't even get to use it for five minutes. The blade wouldn't spin only sometimes. The grey connector part was broken and almost burning it was extremely hot and smelled like burning metal and plastic. Then I've tried to contact the seller no luck and to get it replaced or a refund because there is no customer service I have to pay $40 which is more than I originally paid for it. So now I'm stuck with a broken mixer and I'm out $35. ... show more
