Frequently asked questions

The Massive Audio EQ-7X Car Equalizer allows you to adjust and customize the sound in your car. Its 7 band graphic equalizer lets you fine tune the audio as per your preference, optimizing performance for all genres. The line driver feature raises the voltage output, reducing the chance of distortion at high volumes. The EQ-7X essentially gives you control over your car's audio system.

Aux inputs on the EQ-7X allow you to connect additional audio sources such as MP3 players or smartphones directly to your audio system, bypassing the need for a conventional receiver. The 7V RCA outputs are used to connect the EQ-7X to your amplifier. This enhances the audio signal strength which can improve sound quality.

The 12dB Crossover in the EQ-7X is designed to direct appropriate frequency bands to the most suitable components in your audio system. For example, lower frequencies can be directed to the subwoofers, while higher frequencies can be directed to tweeters. This helps in producing a well balanced and defined sound from your car's audio system.

Yes, the Massive Audio EQ-7X is designed to work with most audio systems. However, it's always a good idea to check compatibility before you make your purchase. In general, as long as your system has RCA input and output jacks or you can use adapters, you should be able to use the EQ-7X.

  • great EQ
Size: EQ 7X Band Car Equalizer
The Massive EQ is a great product, especially for the price. Using my stock head unit and high level to low level converter, I connected this EQ to my 4 channel Pioneer (75 Watts/ch RMS) amp and adjusted the bands and it sounds great. Before using the EQ, I had a little too much mid-range. Now the mid-range is the way I wanted it to sound. I did NOT use this for my Pioneer Sub amp...that is fed directly from the head unit. For those of you who want to use it for the sub amp, there is a sub out but...there is also a low frequency cutoff switch for 90 Hz. or 60 Hz. My feeling is that the 60 Hz cutoff is still too high...it should have 35 or 40 Hz. However, this is still a great EQ for the money. ... show more

  • Awesome flexible EQ with high level and low level RCA inputs.
Size: EQ 7X Band Car Equalizer
I purchased this eq because i have a clarion eq but was looking for something cheap that would also sound good. After owning massive product in the past i decided to give it a try, and im glad i did. this eq really brings out the sound in my amp. I run this into my lg v20 that has quad dac and the sound this produces is very clean and crisp. Update: May 15 2020 - i just installed this EQ in my 2019 Honda Ridgeline. The instructions was kinda hard to understand and not very clear, because i was trying to use high level inputs from the factory stereo. But i spliced an old pair of RCA wires and connected it to the factory stereo speaker output and connected it to the EQ. The EQ auto powers on when the factory stereo speaker outputs turns on without using the remote turn on, but there was a loud pop through my speakers every time it turned on. I was able to correct this popping while turning on by connecting the remote turn on wire which gave the EQ enough lead turn on time before the speaker input signal came in. The sound this EQ produces is great and i still highly recommend it. Its a very flexible EQ with low level and high level speaker inputs. ... show more

  • Great unit to add to any system
I might be jumping the gun a bit but I got this eq today decided to install it (2015 Chevy cruze) i plugged it in it lit up but no sound checked my wiring and it was all correct so I couldn't think what was wrong the turns out the aux button was pressed and I had nothing hooked up there so that's why there were was no sound I only say this hoping that anyone who orders this and does the same thing doesn't get mad and leave a 1 star review like I was about to have this hooked up to a 5 channel amplifier (lightning audio L-5600) and it brought it to life as I'm using a stock head unit that has a bit off bass rolloff at high levels and this corrected that the lights seem to be a little on the "why is this so bright" side but I have this hooked up in my glove box so when it's closed you can't see it (to help deter thieft) I would fully recommend this unit it's a good price it's a bit heavy am made of metal and not a cheap plastic the only negative things I could say about this unit is 1.lights are to bright 2.it comes with an online fuse rather than one built in 3.the lights are advertised as blue and red but are blue and orange 4.wish the switch had an off button for the lights none of these are deal breakers at all still a very solid unit as for the line driver I can't confirm or deny that at this time as I have not tested the output voltage with the unit before with stock head unit it was only 1.2 volts so after I test it with the eq I'll update this review ... show more

Size: EQ 7X Band Car Equalizer
It sounds okay. Its similar to clarion but the sound quality is not like clarion or volume. I replaced my clarion due to intermittent short , and mine was way clearer and louder, i don't believe the line drive is what they say , but you get what you pay for ......

  • Its a big upgrade if your running lots of speakers
Size: EQ 7X Band Car Equalizer
I dont know what these people are commenting on about it being a bad EQ, I think its more lack of knowing how to hook it up(engine whine) and saying it doesnt supply enough bass(deck setting wrong). Im about to buy my second one, the first one still in use, my buddy liked my setup so much he asked me to get him one. It's now $30 more then it was in Jan.2020, most things that are crap dont increase in value. I will say this, at full volume on the EQ side it will distort so just back it off to 8 instead of 10, i run all EQ values right at mid line, volume at 8, sub at 10, and fader mid. My deck controls majority of settings, I also run one pair of rca's to the EQ main and set the deck as a REAR/REAR rather than REAR/SUB or SUB/SUB for RCA's, it works awesome like that, maybe try it if you cant get it to sound good. The knobs are a little small but they stay where you set them. ALL in ALL you cant go wrong with this as long as your not some newb that doesnt have a clue, the boosted line drive is nessacary when you got 2 1000w 4channel amps and 1 1300w 4 channel amp running 4-6x9's, 4-6.5in and 2-12in subs while the deck runs 4 6x8/5x7's and theres no issues at all powering this set up with my 20 year old car. ... show more

  • Great preAmp
Very solid preamp. The lights have a cool blue color and also you can toggle a switch to change the color to a Amber Orange. Its says red, but the actual color is closer to Orange. PreAmps are essential to push the door speakers and the 6x9s. But this preamp will blow out the factory speakers. I got Alpine door speakers with JBL 6x9s. This preAMP also has a bass knob that controls my 8000 watt Power Accoustik AMP independently. I also got my 4 channel 500 watt Rocksford Fosgate connected for the mids and highs. ... show more

  • Works great if all you want is hear is engine noise
Size: EQ 7X Band Car Equalizer
I purchased this because I needed an EQ that is better than what's built into my head unit. Unfortunately this unit did nothing but add noise to my system, and when the engine is running the engine noise is louder than the actual radio signal. I made sure I had proper grounding and played with this for some time, even a ground loop isolator didn't help. I decided to remove this unit.......... ... show more
