  • Best and easiest tiller I've ever used.
Pattern Name: Cultivator Style: Sure-Grip handles
I am 5' 2" and this is the greatest tiller. I can maneuver it with ease and it does a great job. I used one 20 years ago and this one is just as amazing. Other tillers take twice as long to till the same amount of dirt. you won't be disappointed.

  • Good Longevity
Pattern Name: Cultivator Style: Sure-Grip handles
Previous Mantis owner since 1987. Finally carburetor went out June 2024. $51.00 to replace, so I just purchased a new Mantis. Works great.

  • Quit working after one use
Pattern Name: Cultivator Style: Sure-Grip handles
Great in theory, great the first time, a little slow to start, now it won't start at all. Fires up for five seconds on full choke, then nothing. Outside the return window, not able to get any help. Pretty big waste of $400.

  • This is a powerful workhorse!
Pattern Name: Cultivator Style: Sure-Grip handles
Tilling is a tough job here were the soil is mostly compacted clay and webs o thin tree roots abound. I bought one of these over 5 years ago, and used and abused it -lent it to family and friends. We all got our money's worth out of it, so of course, I brought the same one again. With a little better care and a tune up now and then, I suspect this one could last twice as long. ... show more

  • Great machine!
Pattern Name: Cultivator Style: Sure-Grip handles
The mantis tiller is really an amazing little machine. It starts easily and has loads of torque and power. It ripped right thru the hard pack dirt and weeds that I used it on. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the handles were bent when I received it, which made assembly and using it a bit more difficult. They are not terrible, it's just that when using it, my left hand is situated about 3 inches higher than my right. It is not unusable by any means, but it is annoying that I paid for a new tiller that came with bent handles. ... show more

  • Best tiller anywhere!
Pattern Name: Cultivator Style: Sure-Grip handles
The media could not be loaded. Each year I rent one of these to open my gardens. This year I decided it was worth it to me to own one myself. You can not beat the quality. It is very lightweight and easy to maneuver and it is extremely powerful and durable. Video is first time I started the tiller. One handed! Picture is exactly ten minutes later. I was able to open an entire flower bed full of clay and rocks. So very happy with purchase. Delivery was fast and customer service at Mantis was very quick to answer any of my questions. Very happy to own my Mantis.🌱 ... show more
