Description

SideSwiper model SRT2 combines the comfort and added leverage of an easy-to-grasp straight handle with the smooth unlocking motion of a burr free hook. The blade of the SRT2 is angled from the bottom plane of the handle and allows the user to keep the wrist straight while keeping knuckles well above the work. Blade surface finishing and plating ensures that the sharply angled hook will not cut into the vinyl material or produce shavings. Additional comfort and control is achieved with a non-slip textured handle grip. The gripping surface will not become slick from moisture, and the form fitting, plastisol dip process bonds the grip for the life of the tool. Durable one piece spring steel construction is virtually indestructible. A handy oversize hang hole in handle accommodates a 1/4" (6.4 mm) peg hook. From the Manufacturer The Malco SRT2 Straight Handled Siding Removal Tool hooks onto the back lips of vinyl siding securely, without cutting or hanging up in material. Durable one piece steel design. Easy-to-grasp straight handle features a non-slip textured grip.

  • Works great but lasted only one session
Size: 1 Pack
Used to replace two sections of damaged vinyl soffit that were being used as decorative siding. Would not have been able to get job done without it but it snapped at the fulcrum point just as I finished putting the final replacement section back on. May have been using it wrong but as I was just replacing one piece in the middle of the covered area I had to use it to pull the locking leg/lip of the new section over the lock section of the existing soffit. That was when it snapped. There are multiple pictures already on Amazon review showing where the tool has snapped at the fulcrum point so I was not surprised..but still disappointed as there is so much metal/heft to the handle but apparently not enough at the fulcrum point. It made the job possible but only lasted one job. At this price point and with all the likelihood that I will never need to replace vinyl siding again its worth it...if I knew I was going to be working with siding on a regular basis I would look for something sturdier. ... show more

  • Invaluable tool to install a J-block in existing siding
Size: 1 Pack
I needed to install 2 J-blocks in existing vinyl siding. As the J-block base gets mounted to the house wall behind the siding, I needed to pop the siding loose to get access. It took me longer to get the Amazon envelope open and the cutter out than it did to figure out how to use the tool and pop the siding loose. You just jam that sucker up in there where the joint is, give it a tug and the whole piece of siding comes loose. Once my J-block base was installed, and my siding trimmed to clear it, I put the joint back together, gave it a bump with the heel of my hand and the whole piece popped back into "lock". I haven't worked with siding much....I was surprised how easy this was to do once I had the right tool. ... show more

  • Made fixing my siding easier
Size: 1 Pack
I saw this tool on a video I was watching about RR vinyl siding I needed to replace some pieces. Some were broken with the weed eater One piece had blown away. On the video it was helping them zip pieces on and off. It really looked easy in the video. I had a hard time getting it to work that well at first but those were broken up pieces on the bottom. Once I got the new siding a couple days later, It was much easier I could just slide the siding on just walking down the 10 ft length I had to move a new piece to a different location and getting that off was just as easy. ... show more

  • Not the miracle tool some reviewers implied it is
Size: 1 Pack
The tool will work and do what it is advertised to do. But you can get the same tool at the hardware store for cheaper. Also, if you are removing old siding that you don't care what happens to it, the siding can be removed with your fingers and maybe a hammer or screwdriver. Pull the siding out from one of the two ends and it can be easily unlocked. If the siding is in very tight and cannot be pulled out of either end, then this tool might be necessary. Although I only used it maybe 5 times on the job I did. The rest of it I just pulled apart with my hands. ... show more

  • Works great
Size: 1 Pack
I bought this tool to use in repairing some siding on my house and it works great! For those that don't know, the purpose of this tool is to reach in and allow you to disconnect the upper piece of siding from where it latches in to the piece below it. This allows you to bend the upper siding up out of the way and access the nailing strip of the lower piece so you can remove it. Once you put in a new piece (or re-attach the old one) you can then use the tool to latch the pieces back together again when you're done. If all you want to do is rip off all of your siding and replace it, you don't need this. Just go at it with a pry bar. BUT if you just want to carefully remove a row or two so you can do a repair under the siding and then reinstall it like nothing happened, you NEED this tool. It worked perfectly for me and you can't tell at all that I had the siding off. ... show more
