  • Works but is overpriced.
I suffer from IBS and loperamide (imodium) works wonders for it (I have to take it a few times a day depending on how bad it's affecting me, some days not bad and I don't have to take it at all or very little and other days really bad and have to take it a few times a day) and without it my life wouldn't be much of a life- i'd be stuck on the toilet in pain or curled up in bed in pain. Before the coronavirus hit getting it and getting it for cheap was very easy- literally one click away. I could get one bottle of 96 for $6 and could get a pack of two bottles of 96 for $10 but after the coronavirus hit it's been pretty much nonexistent in higher amounts and the amounts they do have are small (6 count, 12 count and 24 count) and cost just as much as the bigger amounts I got before the coronavirus sometimes even double/triple/quadruple the amount. Example: I paid $6.99 + tax for this only 24 count and before the coronavirus for the same price I could get 96. Had the prices reflected the amount compared to before I would've been fine with it but they lower the amount and charge more then the higher amounts makes absolutely ZERO sense and is the most ridiculous money grubbing thing i've ever seen. Over the past few months while trying to look for cheaper loperamide products I ran across a bunch of reviews from angry narrow minded people who blame others for what caused this instead of the obvious culprit: The lovely FDA and the governenment who want to control us even more. Personally I believe people should be able to do what they want to do with their own bodies, as long as you aren't hurting animals aren't hurting other people and are doing it safely I don't care what you choose to do so this whole "oh my god people are possibly abusing it so let's limit it" bs the FDA is pulling is stupid (they aren't feeding us, they aren't clothing us, they aren't are mommies and daddies, they aren't paying our bills so what right do they have to control us and tell us what we can and cannot do with our own bodies?) and what's even more stupid is these narrow minded people who are getting angry with the possible abusers instead of the FDA and the government. They're the ones causing what's going on right now, not the people. But that just goes to show you how brain washed some people are in this county blindly believing and following higher ups without thinking for themselves. It's sad because I don't have health or dental insurance and I can't afford it, I had it almost my entire life but once I moved out of my parents house 7 years ago and was on my own I just couldn't afford it and haven't had either since or been to a doctor or dentist since. When I did have it I got help for my IBS but once I lost my insurance I had no choice but to treat myself using over the counter meds. Loperamide has been a god sent for me over the years because it helped with my IBS, I could get it over the counter and it was cheap but because of how much it costs now I simply cannot afford it and have to go without my meds. First the lovely FDA and the government make dental and health insurance prices instantly high making it to where me and people like me can't even afford it in their wildest dreams nothin but a pipe dream then because of that we have no choice but to turn to over the counter meds to get help and now they want to take that away from us too. Remind me again why we even broke away from England in the first place? To have freedom but we don't have that, things are much worse now every single thing we do is controlled and our bodies aren't ours anymore- might as well stamp Property of the US on all our butts. The president and all of the politicians were supposed to be where they are to help the people but all they care about is themselves and have their own agendas. Sure some people like to use the argument "it's better here then in some other countries" but just because things are worse somewhere else doesn't automatically make this counties issues null and void. Deff not proud to be an american 😑 I doubt this will even get posted but if it does just think about what I said, the only way things can change is if we all stand up instead of just letting things like this slide. ... show more

  • Packaging stinks!
They work well but are almost impossible to get out of the package. I have to cut each pill out of the plastic so my 83 old father can even use them. The packaging needs work or why not put them in a bottle?

  • Call a handyman to get pills out
Transferring the pills to a regular pill bottle has been the most unproductive and hazardous hour of my recent life. Do not attempt to take pills out of the blister if you are in a hurry - you can easily lose a thumb to the sharp plastic! The task requires sharp vision, excellent fine motor skills, and specialized tools. Definitely not for the aging or elderly. ... show more

  • Blister packs awful
Having arthritic hands I could not get tablets out of blister pack, got frustrated and threw them in the trash. Not worth the stress.

  • I hate blister packaging
Loose tablets in a bottle work much better for me. As we get older, it is difficult to manage getting the pills out of the packaging. I will look for the bottles from now on.

  • New Packaging Gets MINUS Five Stars
If anyone has discovered an easy way to open these new 'blister packs', I'd appreciate a Review being posted to share the information. I understand ALL brands of these Anti-Diarrheal tablets are now required to be sold packaged this way, according to Federal guidelines..... I've tried scissors, sharp tipped craft knives, & box-cutters, together with tweezers, & long-nosed pliers, and I've learned some new swear words as a result of the extremely difficult, nearly impossible attempts to free the tablet from the blister pack, in order to take it!! I have not yet discovered a way that opens them easily. If there was another choice, with an easier to open blister pack, I would certainly toss these. ... show more

  • It works for diarrhea but I hate the blister packaging which is the fault of the FDA
I suffer from IBS w/diarrhea so I am either going all the time or constipated. I use a lot of Loperamide and am always looking for the cheapest brand. Prior to the FDA changing the laws on Loperamide 100 tablets was $6.98 of Equate brand. That's unheard of now. For those who don't know the FDA passed a law that Loperamide has to be sold in blister packs with a maximum of 48 milligrams per package. The days of getting bottles of 100 are gone unfortunately thanks to people abusing this medication. That seems to always be the case with medications I need. The packaging for this product is Terrible. They are so hard to open, even if you cut the ends open. Little bits of the packaging fall into the bowl or bottle you are filling and have to be removed one by one. I have Fibromyalgia and my significant other has Arthritis and it takes 30 minutes to open all the pills in one box. This Loperamide can be compared to Imodium, Equate, and Kirkland brands which I have tried and which all perform the same. Equate used to be cheaper but now Major is cheaper, shipped right to my home. There are 24 pills in each package and each pill is 2 milligrams. Why am I giving this product four stars? Because of the side effects. This is the ONLY brand of Loperamide that gives me really bad gas that lasts up to 72 hours after taking this product. It's painful, annoying, and embarrassing, but it is better than having non stop diarrhea. Dosing: Children 6-8 years old: 1 tablet after first loose stool. 1/2 tablet each additional stool. Max 2 tablets/24 hours Children 9-11 years old: 1 tablet after first loose stool. 1/2 tablet each additional stool. Max 3 tablets/24 hours Children 12+ and adults: 2 tablets after first loose stool. 1 tablet each additional stool. Max 4 tablets/24 hours Children's dosing can also go by weight with 6-8 year old's weighing 48-59 pounds and 9-11 year old's weighting 60-95 pounds. Active Ingredient: Loperamide 2 milligrams. Inactive Ingredients: Anhydrous Lactose; Carnauba Wax; D&C Yellow #10 Aluminum Lake; FD&C Blue #1 Aluminum Lake; Hypromellose; Magnesium Stearate; Microcrystalline Cellulose; Polyethylene Glycol; and Pregelatinized Starch. The pills are small and easy to swallow. Their texture is smooth so they don't taste bad when you swallow them like some other brands do. They are scored and can easily be cut in half or crushed in juice. Major Loperamide gets the job done every time, and is affordable compared to other brands. I will continue to buy it in the future. ... show more
