It's a light (~2 lb) tripod and liighter than a tripod intended for heavy cameras, but it's great for an iPhone or small (Panasonic HC V-180) camcorder which are my needs. The pan head doesn't automatically return to level after tilting like some, but I don't want that feature. It pans and tilts very smoothly... In a word: perfect (for me). ... show more

    • Very smooth movement for video
The media could not be loaded. I bought this tripod to accompany my newest youtube venture reviewing tech products. I wanted something relatively cheap (around $50usd) and still have a fluid head and sturdy legs. This tripod meets all of those requirements. Fluidity/Smoothness The fluid head is excellent, I like setting the tightness to a certain spot, and then letting the weight of the camera smoothly lower itself. Good for shots moving top to bottom of a product. The pan function was slightly looser than the pitch function, so it is a little harder to get smooth pans. Still much easier than with a normal tripod head. The tripod is very sturdy, yet not too heavy. For what I use, mostly just taking photos and videos around my house, it has worked quite well! I haven't taken it on any long hikes so I don't know how heavy it would feel after a long day of carrying. If you aren't sure about whether or not you should get this tripod, I'd say its definitely worth it. I did extensive research into this price segment and decided this was the best option for my needs. Hope this is helpful to you. I attached a video with the Broll sequence I filmed using this tripod for a YouTube video I recently published. I hope it helps you get an idea of how smooth your footage can be. Update: the handle has become loose, it's not that big of a deal just rather annoying. I know I could have spent more money and gotten higher quality tripod, but still a bit disappointed that my handle has become loose after such short use. ... show more

When you pan it is very smooth. Once mounting piece is on the camera mounting to the tri is quick and easy. Worked perfect. Bit of a chore to get back in the bag but no big deal. Does have some size to it but if you use tripods you know this. Was a decent price. Yes I would buy again.

    • The directions are easy to follow
The directions are easy to follow. I haven't used with it film yet but the process of attaching the camera to the tripod is very simple. The way the tripod is taken up and down is very easy to figure out and accomplish.
