First time using it and the recommended internal temperatures on the packaging, I cooked a perfect medium rare steak. Just how I like it! Very high quality product and the accuracy is impressive. Would buy again!

    • Amazing two in one meat thermometer
I had been looking for a suitable meat thermometer with a wired probe for a while when I found this product. After using it several times I can say you really can't beat the versatility of this meat thermometer. The response time is incredibly fast, the screen is easy to read, the back is magnetic, and there's a built-in alarm for when your food hits the desired temperature. When closed the probe turns off, but when you plug in the wired probe the thermometer turns on which I think is incredible. The wired probe itself is roughly 30 inches in length, which gives you plenty of room to use the probe even on a large grill. This product obviously works like a standard meat thermometer where you stab the meat and it gives you a readout, but the wired probe is a real game changer. The all metal design allows you to leave this probe in your food even with the grill lid or oven door shut so you won't have to open and check the meat every few minutes. This takes all the guess work out of cooking meat perfectly every time. ... show more

    • I love it.
Its sweet that you don’t have to worry about a power switch that can be easily forgotten which inadvertently results in dead batteries. With this thermometer, all you do is unfold the probe and the power comes on, fold it back up to prevent damaging the probe and the power goes off. Simple as that. The plug-in probe is a bonus and the cord is long enough to keep the thermometer well away from the heat source as not to cause damage to it. Like the built in probe, once the cord is connected, the power automatically comes on and will only turn off once the cord is removed. Unfortunately this means you can’t leave the probe connected when the thermometer is stored away to prevent loss, but that’s a whole other issue. I like that this thermometer also has a function that allows one to recalibrate it, should the need arise. Most digital thermometers don’t have such an option. The unit uses 1x) 2032 coin battery and the listing images suggest that this set comes with a spare, but mine did not. It’s also a bit of a chore to remove the old battery as the hole is a bit tight on this unit and the battery doesn’t seem to want to fall out on it’s own. Nice thermometer. Instant read is really quick and its nice that it does double duty as an over thermometer. Accuracy is pretty good... I checked it using ice water. Overall its a nice device, is well made and works perfectly. Enjoy!

My other meat thermometer broke, so I ordered this one, and it works great. It's easy to use with clear directions. I use it in the oven, and my husband uses it on the grill. It's perfect for ensuring food safety.

    • Really fast readings.
The media could not be loaded. I really like this. It has a switchblade instant read probe that is far and above faster than the one I had. This is especially import in baking to check bread or muffins to see if they are done. You want the dough to be at least 185F-190F and this is faster, and more accurate, than sticking a toothpick in it. You don't want to keep the oven open too long when checking the temperature and the other instant read thermometer was very slow, causing the oven temperature to drop. That is why I ordered this, and I am happy. The extra remote cable probe and the dial light are a bonus. I wish there was a way to store the corded probe on the unit, but it is not a deal breaker. Easy to probe temperature I used the built in and the attachment probes trying to figure out what soy milk maker’s soy milk temperature for a while it wasn’t heating. It will be great to make prime rib in the oven with a wire probe.
