Can't speak to if it's adequate to listen for advanced heart and lung sounds. I feel it is safe to say that the value is better than the quality of this stethoscope. It does function but it is not comparable to MDF or 3M obviously. I would buy as a backup if I had to have one in a pinch.

It is quite hard to hear a heartbeat with these. But, I bought them as a gift for a child and didn't want to spend too much.

Appears cheap and shoddily made. No return accepted on the item, so I'll hang it in a tree to scare off the grackles. If you want it as a gag gift, then it may suit.
