The media could not be loaded. To start with, this thing does not run on batteries. It has to be plugged into the included 12VDC/4A wall transformer. With that size of a power supply, this thing means business. It is a solid machine, with some weight to it. Not cheap plastic with a little flashlight and a blinking light on the top somewhere. It has a blue LED display that starts out with the reading of "999,900" showing the life expectancy of the flash tube. (I tried it before getting a shot of that number). I sent a question to the seller about those numbers on the display as shown on the seller's Amazon page: "What happens after the rated "999900" flashes? Does the device shut down, stop working, or is that a rough estimate on the expected life of the unit and it continues to operate?" The seller quickly responded with this information: "Thanks for your message. After the flash times are used up, the energy emitted by the device will attenuate, and the hair removal effect may not be achieved. However, these numbers of flash are sufficient for customers to receive a good result from this device. So please do not worry. We provided you 2 years warranty of this order. For any concerns, please contact us anytime. Regards, Seller support". So the seller stands behind this product! They even state in the instruction manual to not worry about the "return window closing" on this beastly hair removal machine. It features 5 brightness or intensity levels to pick from, and the unit starts on level 1. Each time you press the power button once it is turned on, it goes up to the next level. Once you hit level 5, it starts going down by 1 power level, until it reaches level 1 again. It has an "ice" button feature, something I thought would just be a fan running. Nope. When the "snowflake" button is pressed, the aluminum head gets... ice cold! Apparently it has a Peltier device for thermoelectric cooling, hence one of the reasons for the 12v/4a power supply. It has a built-in fan that runs constantly once the unit is first powered up, and stays on until powered off. It does not turn off as soon as you press and hold the power button. You shut the device down, then it counts down 10.5 seconds for additional cooling, while also running the fan. The device will only work while being held against skin, but it produces a super BRIGHT flash of light that can "leak" out of any skin not fully covered by the head of the machine. You get dark sunglasses to help with that, they are decently dark and look like something from the 80's? You also get a disposable razor to shave with before using the machine. The cord on the wall transformer is 5' long, and could stand to be longer to give better maneuvering. I measured the surface area of the copper colored aluminum surrounding the flash tube when the "Ice" was turned on, and I got a reading of 48.9°F. The room was around 83°F. So the "ice" feature works like a champ! I tried it on the inside of my hand, and it is amazingly bright. I describe this as a combination of a party disco strobe light blended with a flash strobe from a 35mm camera from the older days. It uses an actual flash tube to burn the hairs off. I gave a close up to show this is not using cheap LEDs. Then, I tried it on the back of my hand without shaving any areas. This laser hair removal device is super simple to use. I’m a newbie and was a little nervous the first time but found it pretty painless even on the highest setting. The important part is making sure you’ve shaved well as the snapping sensation is more noticeable in areas with more outgrowth. I use on level 9 on all areas except my sensitive girls parts where I dial it down to about 5. Because of the small area that is covered at one time, it takes quite a bit of time to do my legs so I make sure to plug in somewhere I can watch TV while I’m doing it or I get really bored. The sensation of warm and cool at the same time is different but that cooling function is awesome as it helps ease some possible discomfort. I prefer to use this on the auto mode for my legs and the manual mode for smaller areas like my armpits and bikini area. The auto mode will zap every few seconds for the highest level and will go faster when the level is lower. You should definitely wear the protective shades as the light zap is very bright and you don’t want to damage your eyes. I just received this product a few days ago, so it’s too soon to tell just how effective it is. But so far I have to say it seems well made. My sister is the one using this. She’s only done a couple treatments so far. I guess it takes time and repeated use to achieve permanent hair removal. She said the treatments aren’t painful. It did just slightly irritate the area of her skin she used it on but nothing bad. This unit has to be plugged into a wall to be used. It’s not battery powered (which is a good thing in my opinion). It also has a counter on the digital screen that shows about 1 million uses and counts down with each use. Overall it seems like a very nice product for the money. ... show more

This IPL device is pretty cool ❄️. I prefer an IPL over other types of hair removal, such as waxing, because you continue shaving while using the device instead of having to let hair grow for weeks before removal. No one needs to know you are using this. The cooling works very well. The IPL gets very hot, especially at higher levels, however, the higher the level, the faster it works. There is a learning curve but you don't want to press down hard, it works better using a light touch and try to keep the cooling bar on your skin but not the glass screen for the light. You will need to use it consistently to get results but it does work and eventually you just need to use it as maintenance. I also like the addition of the red light. I use a similar light to keep my rosacea in check but now I can just use this instead of having to set up my other system. You cannot use any of the three options simultaneously, each one is separate so if you plan to use this for more than just the IPL, plan your time accordingly.
