  • Unlike other models Lux thermostats allow you to set the "Swing"
Style: LTX100E-A04
I have an steam boiler that heats an old brick three-flat. For the steam to be evenly distributed to all units, the boiler must be energized for an extended period of time. So I need to set "the swing" (the degree difference between the cut-on and cut-off settings) at 2.5 degrees. But most of the current thermostats don't allow you to program the swing (which is factory set, usually at 0.25 or 0.5 degrees). If I used those thermostats, the first floor unit would be warm and the third floor unit would be cold. So I appreciate that Lux thermostats allow the customer to set the swing according to their unique needs. Plus a wider swing will prevent your boiler or furnace/AC from cycling excessively. As far as the remaining features, the Lux is user-friendly and easy to program. Reasonably priced, as well. Five stars from me! ... show more

  • When something works. . .
Style: P711-010
These thermostats work great. Not everyone has a system that the Google Nest works with. This will work with a system without a control wire. The setup was a little slow going but after reading the instructions a few times, I was able to program the thermostats pretty simply

  • Great thermostat but wiring terminals require are not user friendly
Style: LTX100E-A04
Controls on the front panel, easy to see. Lighted display is great! Wiring diagrams are easy to understand if you are replacing an existing thermostat. Not so sure about new installations. My only complaint is the terminal block. If you are a DYI installer, you will need a tiny screwdriver and a forceps or tweezers to insert wires into the terminal spaces. Older LUX models had big screw terminals. This is important because you will likely find that the wires are solid conductors and not forgiving to too much twisting and bending. So be careful not to break a wire or you may be forced to pull a new set all the way from the furnace J box. That said, if you wired it correctly, it will work flawlessly. Programming start times is easy after a little practice, but there are no stop times, meaning a time zone will simply move on to the next zone. Considering the price, this is a high quality thermostat that will do the job at a reasonable purchase price. ... show more

  • Good instructions, easy to install
Style: P711-010
I used this on electric baseboard heaters that had a low voltage connection via my power panel. Easy to follow instructions, labels for wires. took all of 10 minutes to install. Of the 10 minutes, 5 were waiting to check heat was coming on. Easy to program as well if you want it.

  • Great thermostat!
Style: LTX100E-A04
Can switch between 5-2 and full 7 day programming, so make sure you read the manual before you get mad it doesn't do 7 days. Ask me how I know, lol

  • Great programmable thermostat for the price
Style: LTX100E-A04
Super programmable thermostat. I have another older thermostat running my gas furnace and use this in tandem for an outdoor boiler hooked into the forced air system. My old thermostat and this one differed by about a half degree and the tolerance of the older thermostat made it unpredictable which heat source would kick in first. Not only is this thermostat fully programmable, and easily copies from one day to the next, but all of the calibrations can be programmed as well. I adjusted the temperature reading by the half a degree difference and set the offset so this thermostat maintained the temperature within a half a degree. Amazing thermostat for the price. Good for a standard setup, but this will not work for every situation and will not control line voltage electrical systems. If you have a standard forced-air heating/cooling system, this is a great little product. It is battery operated, so remember to routinely change the AA batteries in the unit. ... show more

  • Works well, but requires too many button presses for quick changes
Style: LTX100E-A04
Works well enough. My only gripe is the first button press only turns on the LCD backlight and view the current room temperature. A second press then allows you to see the programmed temperature. A THIRD press actually starts to change the programmed temperature. Too many presses if you just want to turn up or down the temp by one degree. The reason for so many button presses is because the unit never displays BOTH the programmed temp and the actual temp at the same time. Luckily, the programming options are numerous and once you have it set for your daily changes, you'll likely never need to touch it again. ... show more

  • POS!!! Failed TWO days after return period ended!
Style: LTX100E-A04
When it works it's fine. I purchased this as an upgrade thermostat for a shop furnace. This morning I walked into the shop. and noticed it was pretty chilly. Checked the thermostat, and it was flashing "low batt". A month in use, and the batteries are dead already?? Changed batteries, reset the thermostat and it appeared to be working, but still not call for heat. After troubleshooting I found that there was no current going to the terminals for the thermostat wires. Obviously internal failure. Return period ended two days ago, so no it's hassling with the manufacturer over a $20 thermostat...... not worth it. Steer clear of this thermostat......POS!! UPDATE: No way to contact the company, as the phone number posted on the item is disconnected, and the webpage is unresponsive (none of the links work) ... show more
