I did the Disney College Program and they have dorm-type beds (though they are definitely pretty good as far as those go) but I knew I wanted something extra on top. I ended up just making up this topper like it was my bed bc the fitted sheet wouldn't go over both. I think I actually preferred that anyway. I did use a thicker/plushy cotton mattress pad with it, but this thing alone is super nice. It really supports you without making you feel swallowed. As mentioned above, I used a thicker mattress pad/cover and still did not sweat with this (and I do sleep kinda hot). I worked outside on my feet and coming back and laying down on this felt absolutely amazing. I'm honestly sad that I don't really use it with my bed now that I'm back home. Next bed I get I will probably try to make work with it bc I love it that much, ha! I also spilled water on it a couple of times... it dried pretty fast despite absorbing the water really well. that's probably not super relevant to most people but thought I'd throw it in. Overall, I don't consider myself a picky sleeper, but I really love this thing. I wanted to be sure I could be comfortable after spending many hours on my feet in the parks and working at the parks and this definitely did the trick. ... show more

This topper is really comfortable. I am a side sleeper/back sleeper, which means I need some softness to my bed, however, I cannot sleep on beds that are too soft without experiencing back pain so I also need the support that firm beds offer. This topper on my firm bed was a game-changer, it helps to soften up a hard mattress and relieves pressure without compromising support. I wanted to buy it with the cover, but unfortunately, it was sold out when I purchased my topper. Without a cover, the topper moves around after a couple of nights of use and eventually needs to be repositioned. Adjusting the topper isn't difficult, but sometimes it can stick to the mattress which could result in a tear, so when repositioning, be mindful. My boyfriend sleeps hot. We haven't noticed any additional increase in temperature after putting our topper on our mattress. If anything, I feel like it has helped us sleep a bit cooler. I did a lot of research before buying this topper. I didn't want to spend a heaping amount of money but also didn't want to buy something that didn't really work. If you are in the same boat, I'd recommend buying this, I don't regret my purchase. ... show more

After much research and reading hundreds of reviews, I settled on ordering this 4" topper to replace the one we'd had for several years. Our old one was no longer working for us and we were waking in the morning with aches and pains that we shouldn't have had so we knew our old pad was breaking down. I'd seen a couple of the reviews that showed some tears in this pad after it had been in use for awhile and since it's foam, I would expect some normal wear and tear, but I didn't expect it to be delivered that way. You can see in the pictures where it was torn upon opening it from the flat pack. We hadn't even put it on the bed yet. Just opened it on the dining room table to allow it to expand. After discussing things with my husband, we decided it wasn't worth trying to see what Amazon would do, there was no way we were going to get it back into the box and we still needed a pad. So on the bed it went, tears and all. Well, sleeping on it is amazing! It's comfortable, cozy, we're sleeping great, waking up pretty much pain free and really happy overall so we're 'torn' between the quality, which we feel is poor as far as the tearing goes, and the fact that it's wonderful as far as a topper goes. So, take this review with a grain of salt because who knows how long it's going to last, but at least we'll sleep great while it does. ... show more

My husband and I decided to get a topper for our mattress to get a little more life out of it. I was perfectly happy with our firm mattress, but he was beginning to wake up sore. We started with the 3 inch topper from Costco, and I slept terribly. I was way too hot and I sunk in way too much. Just too soft. He loved it. We decided to take it back and try this one as a compromise and I have been sleeping wonderfully with it for over a month now. I was really nervous the same issues would persist for me, but I have been really pleased with it… and my husband loves it too! I admit, I was beyond skeptical when I took this topper out of the package. I've bought beds vacuum packed before and was not nearly as nervous as I was with this. As you can see from some of the pictures, it was lumpy, squished, and definitely not big enough to cover my bed. However, after about two hours when I checked on it again, it had fluffed up true to size and thickness. ! Have yet to sleep on it, but it definitely is squishy and puffs right back up after removing pressure. If there is any sleep quality issues, I will update this review. it’s so comfortable! it is not flimsy or flat like you can’t tell it’s there, and it’s not stiff… it truly is memory foam, it completely transformed my mattress into a new bed. i was having back pain and tossing/turning every night leading to having a hard time falling asleep. ever since i got this i fall asleep within minutes. the fit was exactly as expected, and it does what i hoped if not more! i will have to get a bigger sheet so it doesn’t slip up every few nights but it’s worth it! ... show more
