The media could not be loaded. Very very flimsy and poor quality. The clippers it comes with can barely cut a string of yarn, the instructions are terrible (watch a YouTube tutorial if you're new to pompom making), however it does work (the yarn samples it comes with are a nice bonus too) just don't count on durability ... show more

I needed to make some pompoms for crochet projects and wanted to make sure the yarn matches my project. The instructions were difficult to understand and it took a few tries to get the correct outcome. Now that I have practiced they come out perfect and they are rather easy to make. This kit arrived at our house the day before Thanksgiving 2023 and was an instant hit!!! My 7 yo and 5 yo grandchildren took to it right away and then that was all they wanted to do the rest of the day. We actually had to pull them away to bake cookies! The kit arrives with everything included in the product description. I grabbed a sturdy storage box to put everything in and added some yarn stash to the 12 skeins included. Under supervision, my 7 yo granddaughter was allowed to use the included snippers and for really thick pom poms, I used some sharper sewing scissors. When the strings to hold the pom pom in place were accidentally cut too short, my granddaughter could easily use the included plastic tapestry needle to add strings. The pom pom makers really work well and it's so nice to be able to make a variety of sizes. The fit is a bit snug on the two pieces so when you're ready to separate them (after making sure you have tied a very tight string all of the way around), you do need to give a pretty strong tug! I'm sure this will loosen up some over time, but you do want it to be pretty snug to hold your yarn in place until your pom pom is ready to 'be born!'. The included instructions are not overly helpful - the print is somewhat faint and the illustrations not crisp - but there are plenty of resources available online/YouTube. You can also find so many cute ideas of ways to use your completed pom poms. This product is a tremendous value and makes a great gift! ... show more
