  • A very well made and durable little race car with tons of upgrade options.
The media could not be loaded. I've been racing my two Losi Mini-B R/C cars for over a year. For the price and their size, I'm very impressed with the performance around a race track. I also have a few Tekno trucks and one Associated R/C race car for comparison. If you're racing this car on indoor black carpet, I recommend changing the springs to the copper color (firm), swapping the shock oil for 45wt front / 35wt rear and lowering the ride height to prevent traction rolling. Tip - The shocks only open up at the bottom cap. Do not try to open the top of the shock like the shocks on most other R/C vehicles. Don't over fill the shocks to prevent from making the little rubber o-ring pop out and become damaged when you screw on the bottom cap. In my experience, the best servo for the Losi Mini-B is the Reefs 179 with a 25T micro solid metal servo horn. If you are on a budget, the EcoPower 827 is a good inexpensive option and it drops right in with the stock servo horn. My favorite tires are the Pro-Line wedges up front and the Pro-Line Prism on the rear. Here are the other components in my open / modified class Losi Mini-B: Spektrum SR215 2-channel receiver Hobbywing QuicRun WP-16BL30 brushless ESC Reefs 179 servo Gaoneng 2s 650mAh 120c lipo batteries converted to EC2 connectors There are tons of optional metal upgrades from Hot Racing. After I crashed and broke a front hub, I replaced them with Hot Racing metal parts that can withstand crashes better. If you want to change the stock 18T pinion to a 19T or 20T for more top speed, you'll have to either Dremel out the stock motor plate or buy the Hot Racing adjustable motor plate. The only new pinions I have found are from Robinson Racing (2mm bore for 2mm motor shaft). My last tip is to attach Velcro strips along the bottom inside edge of the body and the black plastic rails on the sides of the car. It's much easier to put the body on or take it off with Velcro strips compared to the tiny body clip that people lose frequently. ... show more

  • Sweet little buggy
It takes an already great platform and makes it even better with the included hop-up parts plus you can add your own radio servo and motor combo

  • Cheap garbage
I wanted this car to work soo bad but its just a mess. 1. The motor position relative to the spur gear requires that the pinion be mounted backwards with the grub screw facing away from the motor. Most 24mm motors will not have a shaft long enough for the pinion grub screw to grab on to. 2. The steering link that connects the servo arm to the bell crank isn't sold by Losi and cannot be purchased on its own. If and when that cup develops slop.. you're screwed. 3. Wheels are absolute garbage. Not only where all 4 tires glued unevenly, the front rims wobbled very badly. I ordered another set and those had the exact same quality control issue. My friend who bought the RTR had the same issues too. You never want to run wobbly wheels on your rig because it will create premature wear (slop) in all of your suspension components. Please be mindful that these are 8mm hex on staggered wheels so after market support will be almost non existent aside from Proline. I cannot emphasize enough how big an issue this is.. 4. Shock spring diameter is nearly the same diameter as the collar causing significant lateral movement. The right rear spring is so loose that I can push it to one side and see 20% of the top of the coil. Additionally, the spring rate is probably double of what is needed.. it is waaaay to stiff. 5. Suspension arms are a little thicker than a toothpick.. I am not kidding. Be immediately prepared to drop $45 on RPM replacements. 6. The Aluminum (pro) servo arm mounting depth is deeper than standard 3.2mm main gear height for most 22mm micro servos, meaning that the bottom of the servo horn when mounted, will touch the top of the servo case. If you screw this servo horn on and fully tighten, it will 100% damage your servo. 6. Motor Mount is paper thin and flexes easily. This will cause uneven and premature wear on the spur gear. 7. Slipper clutch plates are made of plastic on the "Pro" lol 8. Diff has side to side play causing the planetary gears to spread outward, then that causes the spider gears to come out of alignment, resulting in clicking feeling when (diff out) you spin one wheel. Since the transmission itself case holds the diff together, shimming will be required to get rid of the notchy feeling. This car is twitchy, and it handles that way for a few reasons. A. The spring rate is to stiff and will require you to add weight (further stressing fragile suspension) B. The wheels wobble, tires make inconsistent contact with the surface making the car feel very unpredictable and skittish. Just look online at running videos of these cars and none of them handle well at the track C. Track width is too narrow relative to the wheelbase and there is no fix for this. All of my current minis are 4wd and was ecstatic to finally add a high quality 2wd to my mini lineup. But the disappointment was real.. the Losi Mini B Pro roller fails on soo many levels its not even funny. The wobbly wheels are the biggest issue for me, its not like you have have any other option but to run their wobbly rims. Every other issue has a solution, albeit costing you more money, but there is a fix... but there's just no way around the proprietary wobbly wheel issue unless Horizon/Losi themselves correct the defect on the manufacturing level.. and we all know they wont $$ do that. ... show more
