  • Great product and customer support
This is easy to install and apparently very effective. I say apparently because I did not have a problem and still don’t have a problem since I’ve installed this as a preventative. My friend lost a garage, vintage Corvette, and much else due to a fire resulting from mice in his engine wiring. So I view this as good insurance. The company has also given me great support and replaced one of my 3 devices long after warranty. ... show more

  • No More Mice Under the Hood
It’s a common problem where I live. There’s different solutions but I believe the ultra sonic is the easiest and most effective method to repel this destructive infestation.

  • 3 year review. Very pleased. Would like a wired option
I have been using this under the hood of my Kioti tractor, which sits outside, for 3 years now, and have been very pleased with it's effectiveness. I use it in combination with a "Fresh Cab" rodent repellent bag, as a second line of defense, but I believe this ultrasonic device deserves most the credit for keeping rodents away. As long as I'm keeping the batteries replaced it in, which is around every couple months, it's been very effective. The device will start beeping, letting you know when the batteries need to be replaced. I would like to see this exact brand/model with a wired option, where a solar power supply could be plugged into it, eliminating the need to change batteries. ... show more

  • Helped with keeping rodents out of my vehicles
I have bought several and they seem to help a lot. Batteries seem to last a reasonable amount of time. Installing can be a challenge. I used plastic ties of my own that are longer than the ones provided. I also install the type that connect to the battery so I have two in each vehicle. They do not last forever but they are in a very harsh climate under my hood. I would clean the engine compartment and spray with rodent repellent before installing the first time and check periodically. If you see droppings or urine respray. After a while the rodents will stop coming in but keep these in. Nothing will work forever but a combination of things will keep them away. I would recommend using these but do not install and forget, rodents are relentless. Especially in the winter when they want a warm safe place. ... show more

  • Doesn't keep rats away
This review is for the Loraffe Battery Operated Ultrasonic Rodent Repellent. The rat population in New York City increased substantially during and after Covid. Rats started appearing in neighborhoods that never had rats before. When I opened the hood of my car one day and saw rat feces and what appeared to be urine stains, I knew that one or more rats had started hanging out there. . I know for a fact that rats will chew wires. Rats got into an electrical equipment room at work and chewed the wires. This caused quite a problem. Hence, I started looking for a way to keep the rats out of my car. I decided to try this ultrasonic device. I put in it 3 brand new Energizer lithium AA batteries and even checked them with my battery tester to make sure that they were good. Unfortunately, it didn't keep the rats away. I suspect that in order to conserve battery life, the device is probably not loud enough. Thus, I tried something else. I went to Home Depot and bought a can of Tomcat rodent repellent spray. I sprayed it unto a rag, opened the hood, and wiped down all the areas that had rat feces and urine stains (I had previously thoroughly cleaned them). It seems to be working. I no longer see rat feces and urine stains. ... show more

  • Works but has design issue
I’ve been using this electronic repellent in my covered outdoor barbecue to keep mice out. It worked well for one month before it stopped working. Changing batteries didn’t help. I then noticed corrosion on the battery terminals. I scraped the terminals clean and reinstalled batteries, and the repellent worked. If the terminals corrode after one month the manufacturer should improve their battery terminal design. ... show more

  • The ONLY thing that works!
TLDR: Nothing works on wild rats, except this device. PROS: It just works! CONS: Only lasted 8 months, and needs 3 AAA batteries every 45-60 days. ...Now on to the review. I have a wild rat problem with my Heavy Equipment that lives outside in a field all day everyday. I initially installed one of these in my brand new backhoe as a precaution. To my surprise it never got rats. Fast forward about 8 months, I started getting rats all of a sudden. They were chewing up wires, and hoses, and costing me lots of money and time in repairs. It didn't dawn on me at this time to check the sonic device, I was in full panic mode. So I try repellent sprays, throw bags which are a repellent as well, poisons (Yes I know what people say, and I don't care there are thousands upon thousands of wild rats in this area, and it costs time and money to repair the damage) I tried multiple methods, multiple brands, nothing worked, the rats actually ripped up the "repellent bags" and made a mess as if to prove they aren't afraid of them LOL. Anyways, after 3 weeks of this mess, I finally thought maybe my device isn't working anymore. Come to find out, it had in fact died for good. It got clogged up with fine dust. So that sucks, but I bought another one. I installed it, and BAM, instantly, no more rats! For me the simple Pro outweighs all cons, because it's much cheaper than repairs. ... show more
