  • Turned out to be super effective
Item Package Quantity: 1
We live in the country, so mice are unavoidable. We have five cats and a dog, so we don't use any kind of poison or dangerous chemical deterrents as our cats have gotten ahold of some mice. If the mice are poisoned and a cat(s) eat them, it would be too late before we realized what happened. We take other preventative steps like not leaving any pet or people food out, putting down pet safe mice deterrent, etc. We also have baited snap traps all over, but mice still sneak into the house. Our pest guy said that without poison baiting, it's going to be a constant battle since mice can get into a house through the tiniest openings. And having a house in a place where mice have significant numbers of natural predators is a spot said mice will seek out for safety. Living across from a nature preserve with several species of predators such as eagles, hawks, coyotes, foxes, and such makes our house probably look like the Hilton. Based on research we did with pest control blogs and sites, several animal control websites, and other house tip sites, they all say it's a toss-up as to whether or not electronic pest control works. This plug-in model and a couple other battery powered electronic gadgets like this have been installed and running 24/7 all over our house for five or six weeks now. Since starting this latest round of preventative measures, the number of mice seen anywhere or caught in traps has gone from once (or worse, twice) a week to ZERO. None in the traps, none caught by our cats and used as toys, none brought to us in the middle of the night as a present. The one thing that has changed in our battle is the addition of these electronic repellers. Our cats may not be happy at the reduction in play toys, but we're not and neither is our pest control guy. When we set these up, he wasn't able to tell us if they'd work or not, but even he is impressed that after using these, we can't deny that there has been a major reduction in mice. Even though it's freezing outside and mice usually head inside to seek shelter from the weather, this winter is nothing like winter last year (2019-2020) where we had to double our efforts against the stupid mice. These units are very easy to operate. Plug them in, select a setting, and you're set. We have the plug-in models in/around our bedrooms, so we don't use the strobe light option, only the sonic setting. Our pets aren't bothered by the lights or the range of frequency noises put out through the speakers. The units are small enough to be put almost anywhere as long as it's within 3' of an outlet, and they are pretty unobtrusive. There is a little green light that blinks and lets you know that it's on and working, but it's not something that will keep anyone awake. Even in a dark hall it's barely noticeable. As far our experience, these have been a massive help in our fight against mini couch surfers living rent free in our house. We aren't going to dispense with the traps or pest guy, though. If anything we will add more of these electronic repellers. ... show more

  • Loraffe 4-In-1, two days, no mice so far
Item Package Quantity: 1
I just got this in the mail, Loraffe 4-In-1 Plug-in Rodent Repellent I am replacing one of the loraffe AA units in our crawl space, since I am tired of replacing the batteries every 30 days. The AA unit has worked well so far, though the mice tend to come back if I forget to replace the batteries for a few days and the weather gets cold, which is why i ordered this unit. I should mention that I have also since placed a bright light in the crawl space with the Loraffe under hood animal repeller, so it may be a combination of both that has been helping with the rodent problem. To be transparent, I am only writing this review, because in the package I received a notification that I would receive another one of their products if I did. I don't typically write reviews, only days after receiving an item. I like to test them out for months first. The "VIP" discount gave me the choice between 5 of their products, including the unit I am reviewing. I have no idea if every package includes this deal, but mine did. I will report back as to whether I actually received the unit, after writing this review. With that disclaimer out there, I have been pretty happy with my past Loraffe product. It has been in use for 1 year. On both products, The lights / sounds and randomness are truly disturbing to watch. The high pitch sounds are mostly inaudible, though I can hear them a little. Once placed in the crawl space, that has not been an issue. This is not a device to be placed in an open room with the light features on. You can choose to turn them off, if you wish. I would probably just choose a less expensive plug in to the wall device (which I have done), if I were to use something in an open room. The 4 in 1 is too large and expensive for that purpose. For enclosed spaces, with AC power or an outside shed / barn / basement, this unit makes the most sense. If you don't have AC power in your enclosed space, you can choose one of the battery powered units, or if you are a little bit handy, plug a large battery into the Loraffe 4-In-1 Plug-in DC input, so you don't have to change it as often. It comes with a wall wart that converts AC to DC, which is why it has the DC input. I believe it is 9-12v, but don't quote me on that. The Loraffe 4-In-1 Plug-in is solidly built, well packaged and easy to use. I wasn't getting the flashing green strobe to work, for some reason, but the white LED's on top are intense and startling. There are 4 functions to choose from, two of which are clearly audible. The other two use difference patterns and speaker configurations. The best thing about this unit, so far, is the volume control. If you have sensitive hearing above 17Khz or young children, you can dial it down a bit to suit your situation. I know, especially when I was a kid, the ultrasonic unit in my family shed bothered the heck out of me, so it is a good feature just in case. The versatility in options make it feel like a unit that you can dial in, based on your situation. No mice so far, for me, but I am swapping units and it has only been two days. Time will tell if this keeps them out of our crawl space. If they come back, I will fiddle with the settings and maybe add the second unit, when / if it arrives. M&C-G ... show more

  • Fantastic rodent annoyance machine
Item Package Quantity: 1
I wanted to try out something to get rodents out of our attic since they seem to be eating everything including wires in our HVAC. I got this and tested it out prior to putting it into the attic. It’s really tiny only about 5 inches high so not too difficult to find a place to use it. The AC cord is not too long to allow you to place the device too far from the AC outlet without an extension cord. I placed the device on a bucket to it was more visible while using the strobe lights. There are 3 audible settings and Test mode: Ultrasonic waves, Duo-impulse and ultrasonic, Trio-impulse, ultrasonic and predator sounds (very loud animal sounds). I used the test mode to listen to the sound levels (it has an adjustable volume). I am using the Duo sounds since the animal sounds are pretty loud and can be heard from the attic. I love the LED lights that alternate between pulses from three different light bars on the top of the device. I looked in the attic and the strobe lights are still rotating and visible throughout the whole attic. So far I think the audible sounds and led strobe lights are annoying the rodents. I haven’t heard anything in the attic in past week so this may be what we need to keep the critters out. I’m pleased with the device’s easy operation and small size. ... show more
