  • This is the One to Buy
I needed to drop the muffler on a Mazda CX 30 to remove a hitch receiver, and then on a CX 5 to install a hitch receiver. Having the right tool reduces the risk of injury. I read a lot of reviews, and too many of the cheap tools had reports of snapping, whereas the Lisle gets nothing but praise. I bought the Lisle. The Lisle is well made, with a good feel to it. Along with some silicone spray it made removal of the muffler hangers fairly easy. I had never done it before. Once I got the hang of it, removal was pretty simple. The hardest part is figuring out an angle where you can get the tool in the right position and be able to squeeze the handles. Spraying some silicone lube on the pins will help the rubber hangers slide off, and be very helpful when putting the rubber hangers back on. The tool has no sharp edges, but there may be a shield or other sharp parts near the muffler, so I recommend wearing gloves. For perspective, I am 73 years old, not a mechanic, and not especially strong. ... show more

  • Lifesaver!
These things are absolutely fanTASTIC. I've removed the exhaust off of my BMW 335i in about 30 minutes thanks to these. They still struggled with these hangers but let me tell you, it was SO much easier using these than prybars and screwdrivers and whatever else I struggled with for 2 hours the last time I had the exhaust off this car. Excellent excellent excellent product. Can't say enough good things about it! ... show more

  • Works perfectly
Got to use it today for the first time in my shop and made a job so much easier replacing a converter I should’ve purchased a long time ago.

  • NOTHING beats the right tool for the job
No more fighting with the hanger rubbers.

  • This thing works!!!
Swapped my rotting exhaust for a new one and gave this tool a try. It worked better than I could have imagined!! Made easy work of rubber exhaust hangars. No fighting and no ripped rubber.

  • Definitely helps!
Saves me a lot time. I'm always changing the exhaust on cars I've I used this tool several times already, huge time saver!

  • If you ever plan on removing a muffler you need this.
While you can get by without this, for the money it's a no brainer. It makes the job of removing muffler hangers trivial (with a little soapy water or WD-40 of course).

  • Comfortable handles
I chose this Lisle brand because of its wider riveted on handles, more comfortable for very worn old arthritic hands. I can easily think of a simple design improvement, but these as are a good value and made a barely accessible and nearly impossible job just difficult and doable. I would think that on most cars these will easily do the job, however I work on trucks and commercial equipment and the handles had to be opened to the point that my 4x hands could barely work them. ... show more
