I honestly never looked at the dimensions and I also didn't notice that it had batteries that weren't included. (6 C batteries) It's a tremendous gift for a Harry Potter fan. The Bluetooth system is very good and the sound and smoke effects are beautiful. 20/10 ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I spent months trying to decide on which Lionel train set I wanted to buy, for our Christmas tree. I couldn’t decide between the Polar Express train and the Harry Potter one. I ultimately chose the Hogwarts Express. When it arrived I was more excited than my kids. The train is quite large and plastic, which I wanted. It is still a good weight for being plastic. The plastic is very durable and I would highly recommend the plastic trains if you have kids that like to throw toys. The tracks are easy to put together. I did purchased extra tracks just so we could have more track options. I would most definitely buy a Lionel train set again! My husband wants to get the higher end trains from Lionel too. It’s worth noting that these trains can definitely take a beating. My 2 year old is by no means “gentle”. This poor train has been dropped and kicked a number of times. And it has held up great against our kids! ... show more

We have a Frozen Lionel train and it looks like a toy. This looks very expensive and looks like a model train, not like a toy. The soup d effects are great. It has a very realistic whistle, and the clips from the movie are perfect. It was very easy to setup and take part. Kids loved running the train all Christmas. The cool feature is there are 2 sets of sound effects. When the train is idle, and when the train is in motion, which I think is a really neat aspect. I purchased the Bluetooth version and I can control this train with my phone using the Cab 3 app. The instructions listed a different app, which apparently is not available here in America but I saw that this was the same company and luckily it works for me. Unfortunately, I have to reconnect to the train every time I turn it on. I wish that there was someway to save it to the app, but once I do connect, it’s pretty cool. I can control the sounds and make the train go slow or fast, also forward or reverse. Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase and so is my Ravenclaw daughter! ... show more

First off, what you get IS NOT what is advertised. The train in the pictures looks metal, sturdy, lit, and has a remote. What I received was the absolute cheapest plastic, had drastic detail differences, no remote, no battery compartment, and didn’t even work. Quality Control- zero stars. The train was completely unable to function. The drive would turn on but no motion to the wheels happened at all. Tried to fix it, but even then, the power to it was abysmal. Oh and the hitches between cars were missing. Design - zero stars. This is a scam. It’s a bait n switch. I received one product but paid for another. The notion that Lionel is charging $85 for this is criminal. I’m glad I opened it Christmas Eve night because if my kids had seen this, I couldn’t bare to see their disappointment. Never have I ever received a Wish or Temu order, never an order from the thousands of awkwardly named Chinese distributors… never EVER bought anything on Amazon with such blatant scam quality as what is supposed to be an established company. ... show more

The train set itself is ok and works fine. I bought the Bluetooth version. The few things I was not as happy about, is the app itself. It would not work on my Android OnePlus 12, saying the device was not compatible, too new. Luckily I have an older phone that did work but now I have to keep that one around to use the train until the app is updated. I can just turn it on but then can't use all the features. Second thing, the steam that comes out the stack is not really noticable. Still a fun toy for my purpose, which is just under the tree for Christmas. ... show more

Everything from this purchase was amazing. Only thing that I disliked was the water vapor smoke system for the train. It's not working correctly and seems to only perform 1-2 chuffs of smoke when the train first Turns on then doesn't work for the remainder of the train run.
