  • LOVE IT!!! My new go-to wood stove!
Size: Small
I LOVE this wood stove! It seems pricey compared to the other camping stoves made of stainless steel or titanium, but it is not. Some of the decent stainless steel stoves cost about $30-35, but they are too flimsy and annoying to put together, in my opinion. For an extra $20 or so, this stove is much, much sturdier, and starting a fire, even on breezy/windy days, is pretty easy. Plus, you get a fire poker, gloves and a carrying bag. Also, it’s pretty easy to set up. I live semi-off grid, so, I don’t use this stove just for camping. I use it for simple things like boiling water and small food preparations, when I don’t want to get my rocket stove out or start a bigger fire. So, I guess if you’re looking for something really light for camping, then this may not be the best option because it weighs about 7 lbs. But I would take it for camping despite the weight because it so easy and safe to use. My rocket stove was my go-to wood stove, but I found it to be a pain to control the temperature without having to constantly watch over it, feeding sticks little by little. Otherwise, I would end up with burnt food and very sooty cookware. This oven, on the other hand, has a much larger burn chamber than a rocket stove. So, I can add much larger pieces of wood than the sticks with the rocket stove. Also, the diameter of the opening is much larger than the rocket stove. So the fire and heat are not concentrated in a small area in the middle. The heat is more evenly distributed throughout the surface of the pan. A few things that need improvement are the door and the pot supports. The door is not hinged. So, it cannot be closed. The pot supports get stuck after the first use, but it can be easily fixed by oiling the hinges. That’s pretty much it. Other than these two things, I absolutely love it. Oh, as far as the material goes, I don’t know if it’s cast iron...but it’s definitely not stainless steel covered with some another material. Maybe it’s carbon steel? I don’t know, but it is pretty sturdy. It’s a great buy, and worth every penny! ... show more

  • Very Well built!
Size: 12.6" Stove Top with Two Doors
Impressed with the manufacturing, very well made-very solid, very sturdy, very robust. Doors work well, seal very well. Cast iron top is large enough for a 12 pan or dutch oven. Pictures are 12" pan and 10" dutch oven. Equally robust some heat retention will be good and designed in such a manner as to direct the heat outwardly when you're cooking. Cast grate is attached with screws. If they aren't stainless already I may replace them with stainless steel. I will use this while camping in my RV or for cooking on a cool night, or if the power is out or anytime a small meal is needed to be made outside. This a IDEAL for an emergency preparedness purchase if you need an efficient cooking devise. One of the reasons I bought this stove was because of the weight. Some of the others only weigh 10lbs. I think those would be less efficient and the materials not as robust. So... I did not buy this for back packing. You are not going 'back packing' with this, weighs way too much for that. Could you bring this along for a picnic? Sure, absolutely. Has a very nice bag to carry it in with two straps, and a Velcro sealed pouch for utensils. My scale says it weighs 17.5 lbs/7.94 kg. Imagine this oven and a dutch oven in a pack... nope. Now if your back packing with mules or pack horse ...maybe, but there are still better options. This is a stove made of steel, cast iron, stainless steel and refractory of some sort. ... show more

  • Just love it!
Size: Large
I will be buying 3 more for my kids and their family. I love this little wood stove. I like it because the grandkids can help feed the fire through the small front door. My husband added a grate to the top so we could directly grill on top and for pots but it is assembled to hold pots already, we just wanted a solid grate. Beautiful and easy to assemble and breakdown but we keep our intact. Love it. I got the large one. I think the smaller one would be too small. ... show more

  • Almost perfect
Size: 10.2" Stove Top with Two Doors
Did lite on first try. Burns very hot. When I tried to measure temperature of the fire chamber using a infra-red thermometer, it gave "Hi" reading!! The only problem I have is, the outside also gets hot. After almost 45 minutes, the outside of the stove was reading 170F. Due to this, you need to set this up on a heat proof surface like ceramic tile or a cinder block. Can not just use it on a picnic table. ... show more

  • This is to keep!!!
Size: 12.6" Stove Top with Two Doors
Good quality and portable. This are good for camping. I’m using this to grill outside and its very easy to assemble. The only thing is it takes awhile for the charcoal to make a fire due to the small space inside. But once the charcoal started to make it fire it blew out fast! Its cute looking for this charcoal grill ... show more

  • Nice for camping or power outages
Size: 12.6" Stove Top with Two Doors
I haven’t tried this thing yet, because I wanted it for camping or power outages. Even so, I feel comfortable using this when the need arises. It appears very sturdy & weighs more than other similar Rocket Stoves that I also checked out. I consider that a safety feature, as the extra weight should be more stable & not as likely to tip over. I also like the versatility of the types of fuel that can be used, with little effort. So, fuel sources should be easy to find, & easy to incorporate & use. Lastly it has a carrying case & is easy to store. I’m satisfied. Thank you very much. ... show more

  • Perfect for camping or an emergency!
Size: 10.2" Stove Top with One Door
Yeah. I have to use it outside but it’s like having a mini wood burning stove that fits in a really nice tote bag! This is great for emergency heating up what won’t fit on the grill also. Can use coals, wood, leaves, etc. It really domes have a stone in the bottom to burn the wood and catch the ashes. And having the silver lift to hold let’s say a branch burning in place without worry is wonderful. Get something cause propane is too darn heavy to drag with you for every occasion! Besides the top is like a real burner on a gas stove so your pots/pans will sit perfectly without sliding off! Love this thing! ... show more

  • Beefy
Size: 12.6" Stove Top with Two Doors
I was impressed with this as it's heavy, but that's what makes it great! Wouldn't want to use it hiking as it's too heavy to carry very far. Super well made and thoughtful design. Seems very sturdy and safe. I haven't actually used it yet, but I'm looking forward to it. The carrying case is awesome too. ... show more
