  • Nice machine
I got the machine bc of the discounted price and bc it is LG. My 20 year old LGWD still works perfect but I always liked all in one combos and my old units will die eventually, maybe, so it's home. I'm use to these all in one units from Europe. The big size is a plus. I noticed the drum is pretty big too so drying clothes will be breeze not having wrinkles. People just need to get use to few different steps to care for the washer. I will get the sidekick too. Lucky to have room for all machines in my laundry room. Can't wait to use it. ... show more

  • Another example of a businessboy ripoff
LG washing machines are absolute junk. They do not fully wet, let alone clean, clothes. Worst of all, the detritus basket at the bottom fails constantly, requires constant attention, and leaks. Take it from me, who has been beleaguered by my poor decision to buy an LG 5 years ago. Awful product. Do not buy an LG!!! Buy a Kenmore. Kenmores are actual washing machines, not mere vehicles designed to exploit consumers and enrich unprincipled business profiteers. ... show more

  • Good Washer, Temperamental Dryer
The washer function works well. One quibble is that there is no way to have a pre-programmed cycle that doesn't use fabric softener. Some exercise clothes are damaged by it, so the work-around is to turn it off for all cycles and then back on when the load is done. EDIT: I forgot to mention the significant water hammer this thing causes, even with hammer arrestors. Be aware of that. The dryer function, on the other hand, is a pain in the butt. It occasionally refuses to stop drying and severely over-dries the clothes. The countdown timer keeps adding minutes and would continue indefinitely without user intervention. Frequent removal of lint from all of the various places that it gets captured (see below) helps a great deal, but doesn't completely solve the problem. You can't leave the dryer unattended at the end of the cycle, so don't leave the house or start it before bed. You also have to use very small loads to minimize wrinkles. Removing lint: - Main filter: Sliding the scraper gets the bulk of the lint, but not everything. Even though it may look clean, there are tiny bits of lint that block air flow. It occasionally needs to be thoroughly cleaned in the sink. - Filter behind main filter (toward back): Take it out and clean it after every load. - Heat pump fins to right of main filter: Wet lint builds up on the fins. You have to take out one screw and pull out the plastic grill cover to access them. Gently use a toothbrush up and down to get the lint. This should be done weekly. - Water pump filter on lower left front: You have to open the door and rotate the filter to get it out. Occasionally lint will build up in it. Make sure to check it weekly. ... show more

  • Very Impressed
Shipping was fast, arrived in perfect condition as well. This is my first washer/dryer combo unit. After watching youtube videos comparing this unit to the GE profile i decided on this one. It was an excellent decision the software/app is great and for a medium size load it will wash and dry in 2-2.5 hours. I'm not talking damp either my clothes come out bone dry. i havent loaded it up with like 20 towels yet, but so far its been worth every penny, saves me so much time. ... show more

  • Buyer beware!
We bought this unit for our family of 6, and are very unhappy with our purchase. It takes twice as long to dry loads, as our 8-year-old dryer. Lint is all over the load, and the clothes are wrinkled AF. We called LG, and they said to wash smaller loads, and only wash "like items" (don't mix shirts w/jeans or towels, etc.). We basically dropped $2K to get inferior technology. LG must have people in place who clean the internet of bad reviews for this product, because I only saw a few complaints about "dry times", while doing my pre-purchase research. If you're thinking about buying this unit, you should absolutely reconsider! ... show more

  • It's the Future
Bought one of these a month ago through a big box store. Overall we are really happy with it. It's amazing to me that we've gone from 2 separate machines for wash/dry, plus a vent to the outside, plus either a gas connection or 240V circuit to this one machine you can drop basically anywhere. And it works! Yes, loads take a little longer, in my experience about 3 hours for a regular load of clothes, 4 for towels/bedding. But that's fine for us. The combo machine means you can run a load overnight or while at work, so it's a different mindset than cranking through a bunch of loads on "laundry day." It does accumulate lint on the door seal. I just hit it quick with a cordless vacuum to get that. The other related thing you'll want to be aware of is the filter/trap at the bottom left corner of the machine. If you're coming from another front loader, you probably never even opened it. This one ends up capturing a lot more stuff due to the lint situation. Probably good to clean it once a month. Again, tradeoffs. I'm good with these for my situation. ... show more

  • Don't believe the haters!
This machine is AMAZING! I absolutely LOVE this unit! Works beautifully. I love that I can wash and dry in he same machine. I also love the softner and detergent pre fill chambers. I do have to add detergent to each load and I never have to worry about forgetting the softener. You can program how much detergent and softener is used for each load via the app. The AI Wash + Dry cycle is awesome too! It senses the load and then picks the best cycle and dry time for that particular load. So smart and convenient. The unit is SUPER QUIET, too. The ventkess frature doesnt heat your house or make it humid. Worth. Every. Penny. This machine is THE FUTURE! User Tips: if you wash mixed loads or overstuff the machine, it will take a long time. Learned that on my first load. Don't wash towels/blankets in the same load as your clothes. Wash jeans and denim in a separate load. It still functions in the smell way as a standard machine-- if you overstuffed it, it won't work properly. Also make sure you clean the lower filter after every 3 or 4 washes. ... show more
