  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Great For Those Who Are Looking For A Cheap Horn To Learn On
I want to start of with the fact that Trumpet is not my main instrument. I picked it up roughly 5 to 6 months ago, but I am versed in instruments as I have played trombone for 8 years now in Highschool. I have experience with levante instruments as I have had a levante trombone for almost 4 months now. Anyways to the trumpet: The materials feel thin and cheap. The brass is very thin and the trumpet doesn’t have much weight to it. The threads on the valve caps scrape when tightening or loosening but they hold tight and do their job so I cannot complain much about that. They just feel cheap. Furthermore the valves themselves tend to be very slow do to burs on what I believe to be the valves themselves. After 3 months of owning this trumpet, however, the problem has gone away slightly. I’m assuming that it is from months of use. if not oiled regularly the valves do go back to coming up slow. The silver on the slide ring is fake and it is actually copper. I’m assuming the valve caps are fake too since they look identical in material. The reason I know the silver is fake is because constant use has scrubbed the fake silver off of the ring. The caps are fine since they do not face substantial friction. The brass and lacquer have not showed any signs of wear and tear from the use I have put into the trumpet and neither has my levante trombone so do not worry about that. But this particular horn has presented itself with no problems besides the valves being less than desirable. Overall it is a great cheap horn if you want to learn trumpet on. Even if you’re well versed in trumpets I think this is still a reasonable purchase. Or maybe check out their professional models. The trombone I have is from their professional model line and, in my opinion, is much better quality. ... show more
