    • Quality stuff with decent flavor.
Flavor Name: Fruit Punch
I've been taking pre-workout for a long time...a LONG time and have been through several different brands and types; some still around, some long gone. So while I'm no expert, I have tried many so can give some decent info. Criteria being: flavor, solubility, efficacy, shakes/crash. First flavor: So the flavor of this stuff is just OK. I bought the Fruit Punch because it was slightly cheaper than the others and since it was my first time I thought let me try it out. So the Fruit Punch is OK. I usually buy Blue Razz flavors so I will try that flavor next (yes; I said next because I will likely buy it again when I'm done). It's a little bitter in spots. If it sits in a cup or bottle some of settles to the bottom and that stuff is bitter. But with all pre-workouts I add a little bit of lemon juice to help with the flavor. Which brings me to... Second solubility: it mixes OK. Not the best. When shaken in a bottle it froths (like protein) which I've never seen in a pre-workout before. As I said above, some of the powder settles out of solution if it sits and the white particles are quite bitter. But I've had worse...way worse. Third efficacy: many experience "tingles" when taking pre-workout. This definitely makes your face tingle. If that's niacin thrush or betaine or beta-alanine (or all of the above) this definitely is felt with this product. If this means it's working better than that's good I guess. With that said, this definitely gives me a solid "pump." I lift HEAVY and for volume. So this definitely pushes me through my workouts and a little more. That said, pre-workout is no magic pill. If you're low on quality sleep no amount of caffeine will help. But after a good night sleep, I took the 2 scoop does Saturday morning, hit legs and went at it hard and felt great. Finally fourth: shakes/crash. There is NO shakes with this. It's 350mg of caffeine in the 2 scoop dose and the delivery is smooth and clean. It doesn't rush in and burn you out. Take it 30 minutes before your workout and it kicks in and stays kicked in for your workout. I've been taking it for a week (on workout days) and have felt no crashes. Sustained energy through my workout and for a few hours after as well. No crash that I experience and I'm very sensitive to caffeine crashes. Coffee makes me crash hard; this absolutely doesn't. Final Note: I bought this because I subscribe to an independent lab company that tests supplements for quality and purity. This was rated one of the highest in quality and purity tests. The lab hasn't steered me wrong yet and certainly didn't this time. This is a quality pre-workout with a solid pump, no shakes and no crash. I will try the Blue Razz flavor next. As for solubility, I can deal with that. ... show more
