  • Great Product for the Price
Color: Black
I ordered this a couple weeks ago, just before the Easter holiday. I am a beginning left-handed guitarist, and so the low price, high ratings and left-handed orientation of this guitar inspired me to purchase it. It was shipped promptly. However, when I received it, the cable connecting the guitar to the amp was missing so I couldn't play the guitar. I contacted the seller and they responded quickly and were very courteous and helpful. They sent me a new cord and even said that if I did find my original cord, I could keep both of them. I got the new cord in about three days. The amp works great; it has a lot of power to be so small, and the overdrive function and other effects work perfectly. It has a slight buzz, but that's normal as far as I know, especially for the price. The handle on the amp is a bit tight, but it's not that big of a deal. The guitar itself is a bit simple, but for such an incredibly low price it is in great condition, especially having a nice humbucker pickup. I wish it had a second pickup, but again it's understandable for the price. It keeps its tuning decently well. However, a few days after I got the new cable, I took my guitar to a local music shop and for about $45 had them fix it up. They fixed the intonation, the action and replaced the strings (the originals were a bit big and rough on the fingers), and now it works perfectly (though the sixth string buzzes a little if played hard). I also bought an electronic tuner, simply because a pitchpipe is difficult for a beginner, but at least it came with a tuner of some kind. One other problem I have encountered is the carrying case. The inside of it was a bit marked up and patchy when I first got it, and recently the zipper on the outer pouch broke off spontaneously as I tried to open it, having worked fine beforehand. I just chalk it up to another feature of this being a low priced guitar. Despite some of my difficulties, I still gave this a five-star rating for three reasons: it's left-handed, which is rare and hard to find; the sellers were quick, helpful and courteous; and it is very cheap yet very nice quality even with some of the problems. God bless. :) Note: After contacting the seller about my broken carrying bag, they have offered to send me a replacement and responded very quickly and courteously. I greatly appreciate their efforts. ... show more

  • If you’re unsure about sticking to guitar…try out this kit.
Color: White
THE GOOD: guitar came in perfect condition and faster than expected. i was so, so, SO nervous about having a musical instrument delivered, as i have never done this before. i used to just go to my local guitar store and pick out whatever righty floor model they had and be happy with the discount, but at this point in my life i really am interested in learning how to play like the lefty i am. a lot of the stores near me have only one or two lefty guitars and i don’t really have the patience to visit every single one just to find one i may not even like and may not even be able to afford. this Davison one looked cool and was ~160 WITH an amp, picks, a strap, a case, the necessary tools to adjust your truss rod, saddle, the cable to connect your guitar to the amp; and the best part—you don’t need to buy a 9 Volt DC adapter or whatever electrical supply that’s usually not included when you buy an amp. you can literally unbox this bad boy and plug and play. that is convenience i can get behind. THE BAD: the stock strings suck (insert expletive of your choice here to describe them). they are TRASH. replace them as soon as you can. i ordered replacement strings the moment i ordered this guitar—my experience with most stock strings are that they are garbage and you should just toss them the moment you get the chance. they don’t stay in tune, like, at all. i think this guitar ships with 9s…i personally don’t like 9s so i went up to 10s. i think the nut of this guitar can handle up to 11s (although i admit i have not tried this yet. when i do i’ll update here). i also didn’t use the guitar cable included, i bought a different one and tossed the one i received (sorry). i also didn’t use the included strap—i just took the one i had on my acoustic off and put it on this electric. i like that strap and it’s cozy. i can’t speak to the quality of the one that is included because i never used it. my pitch pipe tuner was also not included in the package (which is fine because i genuinely don’t like those things anyway). i really suggest investing in a tuner pedal…i don’t like having to compete with ambient noise with tuner apps and a dedicated pedal will help you check the intonation of your guitar more accurately. fast forward to February: this little amp is a troublemaker if you turn it up. there is a distortion button—your results may vary, but i don’t like it and never use that function. invest in a better amp. this one is okay, not great but not terrible either. for practice, it gets the job done. edit 2/1/22: DO NOT USE THIS AMP WITH A 3-PRONG ADAPTER. you will hear a noticeable ‘hum’ (not sure if it’s the famed 60HZ hum) and it will annoy you. plug it into a proper outlet—we just got new outlets in part of the apartment, with the third prong available—and i haven’t had this issue since. be mindful of where you’re plugging this in! if you live somewhere cold…the fret ends are going to stick out. it happens. you can get them filed down, but i’m going to wait it out until spring/summer to see if this rectifies itself. our heating sucks any bit of available moisture out of everything including the humans this time of year. also, if you’re brave or bored enough—you CAN set this up yourself! i did and am pleased with the job i did. you see those little Allen keys included? use them. it’s not hard but you should have a fret ruler nearby. i will eventually take this to a luthier but i really don’t want to be without my guitar for any period of time until i get my lefty acoustic. i use this baby every day and if i’m not playing it, i’m looking at it. i get lots of compliments on it. i am going to have the nut, tuning heads (tuning machines?) and pickup changed out over time, but it’s good as it is. i’m actually happy with it. it’s a ‘kit’ guitar that you can swap the parts out of if you desire to. the biggest pro: IT IS LIGHT. you can pick it up with one hand! the amp, too! you can move from one room to another (or, in my case, one outlet to another) within minutes. also: the picks included are actually cool and i’ve been using them! another win for this product! ... show more

  • Beginners review of the Davison Left Handed E-Guitar.
Color: Black
I don't really know what makes a good guitar or a bad one. What I do know is that as my starting guitar, I'm quite satisfied with it. I'll upgrade in the future, but when I do, this one will go on my wall as the first one I played and who knows, might become a family heirloom. Thoughts... Solid construction. Stays in tune. A few nicks and scratches, but that's minor. Has good sound. Amp is a bit buzzy, but I'm assuming that's normal at high with overdrive, otherwise it sounds good. Best of all it works great with Rocksmith 2014, but I sense I'll be using it long after I'm done with the game ... show more

  • Don't Buy JUNK!
Color: Blue
First, I received order then was shorted all accessories. Then daughter opened on Christmas and wouldn't send any signal, thought amp was bad. Took to music store today and tested and defective pickups, still no contact from seller, DO NOT BUY, Bad Customer Service. After buying a new guitar, found out amp is bad too! Then they sent out amp without telling me after I purchased a Marshall amp, will NEVER purchase from or recommend, but then again how much can you get for under 150. My own fault! ... show more

  • nice guitar
Color: Black
good guitar package and nice guitar but the amp is weak! needs inprovements the electric guitar is nice but right out of the box will need a professonal tech to tweak the intonation/ or action for play-ability! and if you like to play rock music the amp is very weak.it comes with over-drive that is not there when you engadge the overdrive button there's no overdrive sounding out of it.other than that the guitar is very nice for the money!! over all i recamend this guitar package. ... show more
