    • Good quality pool light bulb with nice brightness and remote for color selection
This is a well-made pool bulb. It looks quite durable, and the brightness is very good. I suspect it will have a long life, and probably much longer than older bulbs if you are replacing one that has some age. The remote is battery operated (battery included) and allows you to customize the color to suit your preferences. Installation is just light screwing in a regular lightbulb, although of course you still have to open your fixture, which can vary, and you need to make sure it is sealed well. They mention it in the description, but you need to check the voltage of your socket for compatibility first. If your pool light socket can handle a typical household light bulb (like a lamp bulb) without flickering, then you should be good. This bulb works with a conventional 120v socket. (When you test your fixture with a regular bulb and if it flickers or doesn't illuminate, then you likely have a 12v socket instead.) This is a reasonable price for a good quality replacement bulb, and given the color options and included remote, will probably be a nice upgrade for most people. ... show more

The brighter colors indeed span the entire pool, even in my 15,000-gallon pool. However, the darker colors, like red, don’t travel end to end as effectively. It’s a minor limitation, but worth noting. The included remote control allows easy adjustments of color, brightness, and lighting modes. It’s a convenient feature. Now, let’s talk about the unexpected nostalgia—the remote’s metal antenna! It did take me back to the '80s/'90s technology era. Product was actually a lot easier to install than I first thought, I tested the light out of the water prior to installing it and it worked really well, the colors were very vibrant, but not as near as bright as the White mode. I suspect that has alot to do with the white LEDs being separate LEDs. The remote control worked well while out of the water. Unfortunately once installed, the only way to get the remote to work was to hold it with the antenna fully extended really close to the light. I'm guessing the signal can't pass through the water? I'm okay with being close to the light to operate it. It's a minor convenience. Overall for the price this works as a nice upgrade to my old light unit. ... show more
