I have been using this wall charger for my 2018 Tesla Model 3 and it has been just awesome. It is very comparable to the Tesla brand wall charger, with additional features. However, it is missing one minor feature, which is not a deal breaker. Installation is a breeze. If you already have an existing Nema 14-50 outlet, then its just a matter of installing the mounting bracket, setting your desired max amperage, and the securing the wall charger. If you do not have the plug, but you do have an available breaker/circuit, then you must disconnect the plug and attach the wires to the circuit, which is a bit more complicated and not recommended for anyone not familiar with electrical work. As for the features, it has a nice color display which shows the current charge and amps, which is very nice. It also has a power down button, so that you can keep the charger off, when not in use. One major feature that is missing though, is that you cannot use the button on the charging handle to open your charge port! It is a minor issue though, since you can open it with the app or touch the charge port when your car is unlocked. But the convenience of having to just hit the button is very much missed. This is not a deal breaker as I mentioned, as the other features of this charger make up for it. Couple months ago, i bought a charger for my Model 3 called Autel, it was 50A and worked very well for me, then I want to try this charger as well and almost worked the same as 50A. Charges very well, but remember still is not a fast charger and only gives you 46 mph. Installation needs to be by a professional. Also, long Cable is very useful when the charger is installed inside your garage. ... show more

    • Thick cables
I have this plugged into a nema 14-50 outlet so max is 40 amps. I have it set to max out at 32 amps, which I can adjust using a tiny dial on the back. Make sure to set this before you attach the unit to the wall with screws. What I love: Display that tells you it’s status and the temperature of the unit. The cables are thicker and heavier compared to Tesla’s Wall Connector. Hopefully, this means it will control heat more efficiently, especially in Las Vegas summers. What I wish for: I would’ve liked to have the extra 4ft the Tesla Wall Connector has. This unit only has 20 ft, which is not a deal breaker. I just have to back into my garage so the charging port faces the wall since my space is on the right side. It does reach the port if it were on the other side, but there isn’t much slack so I worry about it putting too much pressure on the charging port, because of how heavy the cable is. Small annoyance: I have my Teslas set to end charging by 6am. At times, when getting home from work, I need it to start charging immediately, because I know I’m going somewhere later that night. When I tap “start charging” in the Tesla app, it will give me an error. I have to unplug/replug every time, then tap “start charging” again. It will work after that. The other wall has the Tesla Wall Connector and it doesn’t have this issue. Im sure its just software/communication issue that I hope Lectron is able to fix. The design seems to be very good from the ground up. The cables are thick and heavy which leads to less heat and improved safety than cheaper alternatives. The LCD display looks good and displays info nicely. The charging speed is great and our model 3 long range is always full by the morning. Haven't been able to find any major drawbacks other than the cable being slightly short if your 220v outlet is located on the opposite side of the car charging outlet. Overall great and probably a better option than cheaper alternatives with thinner cables. ... show more

This charger works with no issues or drama and the plug fit my 14-50 outlet nice and tight with no play. The screen is easy to read at a glance. The cables are nice and heavy, they have a good feel to them. What I like best is the look of the unit, these units are large and hard to hide so the looks of it were important to me and I like the look of this one.
