I live Augusta, GA where my neighborhood was completely decimated by Hurricane Helene. Between that and a tornado ripping through my front yard, I lost three enormous, beautiful trees, one older than the U.S. Declaration of Independence. I decided to memorialize these beautiful trees with various fields of wild flowers, starting with the area directly below my kitchen window. I CANNOT say enough positive things about this tiller: 1. It’s easy to assemble. 10 minutes from the box. 2. It’s powerful. 3. It’s easy to operate. If you can walk a dog or a precocious child, you can operate this tool. 4. The breath and depth of this machine’s ability to unearth small/medium sized roots is nothing short of miraculous. Also surprising was its removal of the entire areas’s layers of anti-weed cloth that was laid down by the previous home owners. I didn’t intend on removing the layer of cloth, but the machine had other ideas so I went along with the plan. I’m glad I did because it’s one helluva cleaner area now. 5. One of the most impressive discoveries early on was my walking backwards with the tiller and lifting slightly towards my chest which causes the machine to pitch forward and dig deeper to really loosen that rich and moist soil - - doing so removed the need for me to even consider buying any amount of new dirt for the wildflower seeds I’ll be throwing down. I think this was one of the most useful motions used during the entire process. 6. Because my area was so packed with years of roots and layer of cloth, I did have to stop the machine three times in the 90 minutes I was tilling in order to remove the wrappings of the materials around the spool. But that’s expected. The area pictured (before and after) took me 90 minutes from start to finish. I am relentlessly meticulous about yard work. Someone else may have done it quicker. I promise you, had I not used this tiller, (a) my back would be shot by now, (b) I would be no where done - manually tilled, this would have easily been a 3-5 hour job and likely cost me a bad back for the next two weeks. I’m ready to start hitting the other areas where the tress used to be. Make no mistake, this tiller is the best decision you can make. It’s sturdy, effective, and the cost is WELL beyond reasonable. I read over the reviews of many tillers. Watched videos and thought ‘why not?’ This little beast really works! Lightweight but powerful! Keep in mind, it’s electric so keeping the extension cord out of the way can be annoying, but eventually you get used to it. I used it to break up the top soil for more plants in an huge shade garden and I easily maneuvered around already planted perennials and pine trees with ease! It’ll hop when you near a root but extremely easy to control. No bulky, heavy, hard to control gas powered headaches! No sore shoulders and arms either! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a tiller! Assembly was fairly easy as well. ... show more

Bought this to till through my hard red clay yard so we could add some good soil into it and grow some clover/grass. It was surprisingly powerful, and did great! We have some pretty sizable rocks in the yard, and it didn’t great with those as well. Overall very happy with it and it was easy to use

I wanted to buy a small tiller to work my 8' x 24' raised bed tomato garden. I live in Upstate NY and my soil - even topsoil and garden soil - has lots of clay and can be a real bear to work. I figured I'd roll the dice on this little guy. Boy, am I impressed. The unit was securely and sensibly packaged in a small, manageable box. Unboxing was trivial, and assembly (attaching wheels and "hub caps" and assembling the handle sections) took less than five minutes. The only tool I used was a pair of pliers to manipulate the cotter pins that secure the wheels to the axle. Ran a heavy-duty extension cord out to the garden, put on my gloves and goggles, plugged it in, and squeezed the trigger. The unit is MUCH quieter than the equivalent-size gas tiller and had tons of power... it tore right into my clay soil without slowing down. Moving back and forth, I did a nice 8-9" till of my 8' x 24' garden bed in about 20 minutes. Added some compost and used the tiller to mix it all in, then a metal rake to evenly distribute the soil. It took me less than an hour to completely prepare my garden for planting. My only regret is that I didn't buy something like this years ago! I'm a Tool Guy, and this machine is well constructed and has a nice powerful motor. I expect to get many years of use out of it.     • This little tiller kicks ass! Small but effective!!

I am a pretty small person, and my husband was worried that using a tiller would be too much on my previous Broken wrist. I was a bit worried myself, but I read all the instructions on what to do and what not to do and used it correctly and it worked perfectly. Plus it did not cause me any pain or any new injuries lol. I have had no problems whatsoever with this fantastic tiller. It is perfect for a small to medium size yard to get into those corners that you can’t get into with a bigger tiller. I highly recommend this, but please whatever you do follow the instructions and use it correctly and I’m pretty sure this thing will last very long time. PS. The reason why I say follow the instructions is because my husband started to use it and I stopped him because he was going full force and bearing the blades down in the ground to plow through the dirt, hitting all these rocks and not taking his time to go layer by layer. ... show more
