I knew I wanted a lap desk for my laptop to use in the evening just before I went to bed, and I purchased one to find out that there was much more to a lap desk than just a lap desk. Let me explain... Not all Lap Desks are created equally; sure the basic features are the same, namely you look for one that supports the size of your laptop, and one that can be adjusted for comfort. But there are so many other things that I missed. For example, the surface material, the stoppers that prevent your laptop or mouse from sliding off when tilted. whether or not there's a cutout to vent your laptop, or if there are other features like a cup holder, or a cell phone holder, or a tablet holder, and the like. This all came out when I was using my first lap desk tray and I kept saying to myself, "you know, it would be nice if..." So I made a list of all the features I was looking for and went back to search on Amazon. I found this Saiji Laptop Bed Desk Tray and it ticked off all the boxes! Here's my list of needs in a Lap Desk: Adjustable in both height and tilting angle (I am a smaller person so height is a factor so that my arms are not raised to high or at an awkward angle.) Easy to clean (I take written notes and if I get ink stains, I want to be able to keep it clean). Also, if I get breakfast in bed and I don't need a daily reminder of any previous accidents.) Grip. When using my laptop, I often have it a slight angle and I don't need the mouse to keep sliding off. Easy storage. I wanted something I could easily break down that uses minimum space for storage. The slimmer the profile the better. This Saiji model has a man-made synthetic surface that looks like leather (but it's not). It's textured which gives it the slightest amount of grip I was looking for when slightly angled to keep the mouse in place (too much grip and the mouse will have difficulty moving). The surface is washable which makes cleaning up spills and stains a breeze when done immediately. There's a trough at the bottom and a removable bar to keep your laptop in place. An invisible lip also runs across the entire width which prevents your mouse from sliding completely off, and it has a hidden sliding drawer to keep some stationary or store your glasses. But as prepared as I was with requirements, I was pleasantly surprised in discovering one additional feature that I absolutely love. This table has sleigh legs, allowing the ability to slide the table away from you and providing easy access in and out. Bonus! This thing has been such a huge productivity-saver for me. I have two very clingy cats who LOVE to get in my space when I’m drawing or working on my laptop. This has been the perfect solution for working at home with them. At least one of my cats (pictured) now knows that if the tray is out, she will automatically curl up under it. My other cat will try to lay on TOP of it, but usually I can convince him to lay somewhere else. Being able to adjust the height and tilt makes it incredibly customizable for tablet/notebook use and laptop use, as well as easy to adjust the angle to account for where you are sitting and if there is a creature taking up space in your lap. It might be a little wider than I’d like, but the collapsible legs make it easy to wedge in between couch cushions and fit into many spaces. It’s a little bulky, but it’s very well constructed and has endured drops, spills, and many different awkward angles. The only complaint I have is that the compartment isn’t quite deep enough for me to store much in it, like my wired mouse, and can slide open if the tray is tipped to that side. Regardless, I highly recommend it if you do any sort of work, creative stuff, or gaming from a laptop. Even if you don’t have pets that like to try and get your attention when you’re working, it’s great for so many uses because of its tilt and height customizability. I brought the one with the draw on the bottom side, and I can’t be more pleased with this desk table, I can honestly say it’s a great buy! it comes totally put together which deserves 5 stars for that alone Lol. it’s more sturdy on a table, of course if you’re using it in bed-it won’t be as sturdy but it’s still great (I use it mainly in bed) I chose the gray color and it’s really nice, it’s a good size for your laptop or 10’ table on one side and a notebook on the other size, the legs folds close easily and the top tilts (my favorite feature) once folded you can just put it in a closet or under your bed etc. it’s not so big that you can’t store it in a nice little corner when you’re not using it. ... show more

Disclosure: I purchased one and received another for free without reason (gift?) Kind of wish it started a bit shorter as I'm 5'4" and it puts a bit of pressure on my shoulders or arms to compensate. Fairly easy to use, but gets difficult if you keep your computer on it. The weight on top makes folding it up very difficult since the "locking" on the legs is a bit too strong. The legs extend, but I have yet to see a reason you would need to extend them as it is already very tall, in my opinion. The locking mechanism that controls this is very easy to use and I have not had any issues with it falling with large laptop on top when testing. The "feet" ar slightly curved on both sides to easily slide forward and back. The top material is nice texture with slight grip. Comes with one movable stop for the bottom to hold computer when the top is tilted. Tilt works very well, lock holds tightly. Drawer is pretty useless for me but works well, sliding nicely and nubs keep closed when not using. The width of the top is almost perfect. I do have space to place my computer and mouse but I would prefer a bit more space for my mouse. Warm/hot running laptops should be used with a cooling base as I feel the material would hold the heat. Tl;dr: Good bang for your buck. Locks and stops work well. Moving parts move as should. Materials feel nice (not cheap). Holds up well. Too tall for short people. ... show more
