******** UPDATE ********* These work; as soon as they were installed there was an immediate reduction of bugs in our kitchen, the main trouble area. By the second night there were none. Definitely 5-Stars. Short of poisons, we've tried everything to get rid of those bugs. We haven't seen bugs anywhere in the house either, since installing them throughout. ***************** We prefer any method of pest control that doesn’t involve poisons, in or out of the house. So, when I saw the Landisun Ultra-Sonic Pest Repeller become available, there was every reason to give them a try. How do they work? I don’t know, I’ve only had them a couple of days. But we’ll see. We’re not having problems with mice or any other rodent, we’re in the usual summertime battle with insects, both crawling and flying. In addition, we’ve received an email from our county alerting us to the fact that they’ve tested mosquitos in our area carrying West Nile Disease. I’ve got bug zapper lights outside, around the house, which so far seems to have kept the mosquitoes in check, but they have no effect on the crawling things we find indoors, like ants, fly, mites and the like. Ants we got rid of using Raid enclosed ant traps. Sticky fly traps and a good old fly swatter are effective for them, but there are tiny mites that seem to show up every night in the kitchen for which we’ve found no non-toxic solution. I’m hoping the Landisun Bug Repeller is the solution. That, and maybe the others won’t come into the house in the first place. I’ve placed the Ultrasonic Bug repellents in the garage and throughout the house; its really handy that six are included, providing full coverage for our house. They do make a very faint, high-pitched audible sound when plugged into power, but you have to be close to hear it. If I start hearing voices in my head, I’ll unplug them. Or headaches, not that there’s any reason to believe they would have an effect. But you never know with an entire house reverberating with ultrasonic sound. Anyway, all I can do at this early juncture is update this review in a week or two, or as soon as a discernable effect on the creepy crawlies around here is noticeable; or not. I’ll give the Landisun Ultrasonic Pest Repellers a 5-Star rating for no other reason than that they showed up on time and light up when I plug them in. It’s to early to determine anything else.     • Fewer mice in one week!! But MORE bugs?!
I plugged these devices in as soon as soon as i opened them. Its been about a week now, and i do think there's fewer mice in the house. Its not having the same effect on the bugs though...I've seen MORE bugs, of all shapes and sizes since plugging these in. I don't know if the devices are at a frequency that is attracting the bugs or if its just a coincidence or some other reason. The reason i took away a star is because i can actually hear the devices....they make a constant humming sound, nobody else who has been in the house can hear it, but it's just enough to be very irritating to me! Not painful, just extremely annoying!! Im sure this hum is from the devices and not just my ears ringing or something, i don't hear the noise outside or anywhere else. My dogs aren't bothered at all, they did perk up their ears and look at me when i first plugged them in, but they've shown no signs that they even hear anything since then. Anyway, im happy with these because they do seem to be causing the mice to slowly vacate the house and they're so easy to use, no mess, no dead mice to dispose of, and no risk to my pets! I would definitely recommend these little devices for anyone wanting to get rid of tiny home invaders without risking harm to your pets or family! ... show more

    • Works on Carpet Beetles
I purchased a mosquito "trap" a few months ago and was dismayed to find a bunch of what I later determined were carpet beetles (not a single mosquito...). For a couple weeks, I'd check the trap and there'd be a few more beetles each day. After installing these a week ago, there have been zero new victims in the trap. Being hugely skeptical, I figure it must be a coincidence. Maybe the trap is malfunctioning, or due to recent changes in the weather, insect behaviour could be disrupted, or maybe they just learned it was bloody stupid to go in the trap. Either way, until I see evidence to the contrary, I'd say these work at least on carpet beetles! If my infestation recurs, I will update this accordingly. ... show more

I’ve been using this Ultrasonic Repellent for mice in my cabin for the past three weeks after catching a mouse. Initially, I was ready to give it a 5-star rating, but then yesterday I caught 5 mice in a trap that was only 3 feet away from the unit. Now, I’m not so sure if it actually works. There are 6 pest control repellent plug-ins in this order. They are fragrance-free. When plugged in, they illuminate with a blue light on the front, letting you know that it's working. This also serves as a nightlight. These plug-ins repel mosquitos, ants, spiders, roaches, and mice. Here in the south, we have problems with all of these, so these plug-ins are great to keep plugged in 24/7. With 6 of these plug-ins, it will cover a large area of the house. It is recommended to plug these in at least about 12 inches from the floor. Each plug-in covers 750-860 square feet. They are made of hard plastic and appear well-made and durable.     • Appears to Be Working for My Ant and Bug Problem
We have a frustrating problem with ants on my street. My neighbors and I have used poisons that worked for us previously, but the ants this year just eat it up for dessert. Out of desperation, I ordered this ultrasonic repellent pack and a different type of poison at the same time. I employed both, and two days later the ant problem is gone. I put these ultrasonic repellents in sockets in the rooms where I had the ants. Unfortunately, these repellents cover both sockets in the outlet, so I will need to get a power strip. These devices do not seem to bother my cats, which is good. I have seen no other bugs. I go in and out of my patio door frequently, so we often get the odd mosquito or fly, but not since I started using these. I’m glad to put these in my basement, because I got a mouse there last fall when the weather got cold. Hopefully that won’t happen this year. The blue light is bright, so I don’t think these are good for using in bedrooms. I wish they had a subtle red light instead. ... show more
