Liked the chair’s stability even when fully reclined! Move’s easily through different positions! Braking system is just a little helpful but not too firm—by factory design. It’s comfortable for an outside chair but would be curious if using memory foam would make it better! After 2 weeks of daily use for prolonged periods I would definitely buy again! ... show more

After reading lots of reviews here on Amazon I have to admit I was skeptical but went ahead and purchased anyway. The chair is undoubtably the best I have ever owned. The only nitpick, as others have expressed, is the lack of a cup holder, other than that, it's perfect. Lots of negative reviews I read concerned the lack of a true locking mechanism for holding the chair in a certain position. It does not, have that ratchet mechanism that in my opinion is a pain to use, instead it has a mechanism to increase or decrease the friction on the slide bar. I have not yet found it necessary to use it as the chair is so well engineered that it holds me in any recline position. I'm 5'10" and weigh 165 lbs. and it works perfectly for me but I can't say for sure it would preform the same for all shapes and sizes. A friend of mine (5' 11" 230lbs} tried it out briefly and I didn't see any indication of him struggling to hold it in position. It's very comfortable and I would say that anyone who has back issues (like me} would find this chair a welcome addition. The only other complaint I have is that when my wife sat in the chair she didn't want to get out of it. So it ended up costing me another $259 to get one for her! But hey, it's cheaper than a divorce, right? Buy the chair, you won't be sorry. ... show more

I found that my lower back was consistently uncomfortable in our regular outdoor chairs. I came across this chair and thought I would give it a try. It is extremely comfortable and light weight. When my friends come over they comment on how comfortable it is. Today it was referred to as giving a "big hug" by my adult daughter. This isn’t my first Lafuma. I’ve always been impressed with their quality and comfort so when I was ready for another zero gravity lounge chair I could tote to wherever I wanted, I didn’t even consider looking at another brand. My one and only nitpicking comment is that if you’re long legged and short waisted, you might find that the support bar at the end of the leg rest strikes you in a less than ideal place. It doesn’t bother me personally, but it does detract from an otherwise perfect comfort. Even so, it’s still a great chair. Just don’t let it sit out in the rain and damp, humid air for a year, ignoring it because it will develop mold. That’s what happened to my previous Lafuma, and though I thought I had cleaned it up to acceptable standards, my wife made me get rid of it. We live in a rain forest so mold and mildew develop on everything. ... show more

The mechanism to push back into the zero gravity position is so stiff and requires such hand and leg strength as to be useless for someone who is arthritic and /or has comprised strength. The chair is attractive, seems well made, and was comfortable—once two strong men assisted in pushing me into the zero gravity position. I am 5’3” and bought the regular size. I am very disappointed that it did not glide easily into the various positions. Sadly, I am trying to return it. I say “trying” because the seller seems not to offer UPS PICKUP for an item that clearly will not fit into small cars or is portable for people with compromised strength. ... show more
