Works very well for the homemade bucket-filtering system I made. Just be aware that there are two rubber seals (one for inside and other for outside), not only one as I had first thought. The spigot works well and doesn't drip after closing - great value.

I’m so glad I listened to others in another item’s comment section because I was directed to this particular spigot. Had I not seen their comments, I would’ve been SOL with a lot of water damage to deal with. I purchased a water dispenser for our game room so my son could make ramen in the microwave without having to go to the kitchen. The spigot that came with the dispenser was plastic and extremely hard to tighten. Non the less, stupid me thought I’d try it with the plastic one even though I read so many reviews saying it would leak. I set everything up, threw the 3 gallon jug on the dispenser and stood there admiring how pretty it was. While I was distracted, my cats were intently checking out the new thing in room. One became strangely focused and I’m so glad he did because he alerted me to the dripping water. Luckily it wasn’t much water but it was enough to cause a water rim on my wood table. Needless to say, I switched spigots after I cleaned up my mess. Happy to say it hasn’t leaked since I put the stainless steel spigot on so I highly recommend buying it, it’s reasonably priced and easy to install. Q ... show more

The plastic spigot on our 3 gallon jug dispenser worked ok, but dripped a lot, making a mess. I got this all metal one and test ran it over a few days switching from hot to cold water and never leaked a drop!
