This onesie absolutely works! My little girl had been licking her underside bloody raw! After trying sprays, shampoos, mousses, and meds I decided to give this a try. It couldn’t hurt; right? Well; my little girl loves wearing it, she isn’t able to lick at her underside and the skin has healed and fur grown back. It washes well. My little one is 20 lbs. When I took her measurements; she came out as a solid medium. I did end up reordering the onesie in a size large because I felt the medium wasn’t long enough for her torso. It’s a little large around her paw area; however, it doesn’t impact her wearing it at all. The quality is great, the material is very soft, and the color is a baby pink with leopard print. We purchased this for our dog, who has a skin disease that causes her to break out in itchy rashes and who has a serious butt scooting problem. We purchased size XL for her - she was 1” over the length minimum and only 2” under the chest measurement maximum. It was slightly too long but still wearable, and fit her just right in girth. Neck holes and leg holes are large but comfortable, but the tail hole is massive and we’ll need to sew additional fabric on in order to cover her genitals. The material is very thin and stretchy, almost like a thin women’s t-shirt. I don’t think it will hold up to repeated scratching and wouldnt recommend it for more active dogs. Our dog is very accustomed to wearing sweaters and even diapers/suspenders due to her condition, but she seems to love this! No issues getting it on and she isn’t tugging at it or trying to get it off in any way. We bought 2, so hopefully the 2nd one fits as well. ... show more

Purchased this pet-onesie for post-surgical wear after having our one year-old American Foxhound/Am Staff, Cookie, spayed. She is 52 lbs and leggy. She has been cooperative with wearing it (and this is the first 'outfit' she has ever worn.) We may just have gotten lucky that she doesn't bother with her stitches, but this provides a nice, clean protection for the wound area, deters licking, and protects her legs from being poked by the sutures. When I have taken the onesie off of her, she seems uncomfortable because the stiff nylon stitches get snagged on the carpet or poke her in the legs; she becomes visibly uncomfortable. Needless to say, she has been wearing this almost non-stop for six days. The neckline does work its way back and I need to readjust it on her from time to time, but since the collar is flexible, she doesn't seem to mind it too much/it isn't choking. Fabric is light and breathable. There is enough bagginess that it isn't chaffing, but to so much that it provides her access to her stitches. The way the onesie is designed, she is still able to do her routine "hygiene" to her backside. The belt doesn't cinch tightly to the body, so it doesn't rub the incision. ... show more

I bought this because my sister told me about this and I had two dogs that were having surgery. I needed them to hold their tummys and stitches from coming out and them not to lick or clean themselves after surgery. They are very cute and practical. however. I was in a crunch and they came on time, but the reason I am giving it a 3 and not a 5 is because of the measurements. I took this according to what they said and went by that. I was at the inbetween size so I went up and that was ok except for it was way way to big. The sizing charts are very confusing and hard to read. I know that My sister did this for her cat and had to go way down. Mine was for two Dogs. If the way that the measuring could maybe better I think it would be great. Also on a side note their is no instruction on how to put it on, which is not all that hard to figure out butsome may not understand it. If the animal needs to use the bathroom, again this part does kind of make it hard when they just had surgery. It's not terrible but it's not the best. I think that there could be an easier set up for this too. ... show more

Recovery suit worked great! My dog had 3 mammary tumors removed so there was a pretty big incision. I actually ordered another one for a backup when one is being cleaned. I highly recommend it. Easy to put on and the size was perfect.

    • Comfortable, Soft, and Cute--Only One Complaint

Got this for our female sheltie to wear after her spay surgery. It fits her well and is just snug enough to give a slight compression for comfort on her surgery site, but it's not tight at all. She seems to be comfortable in it and has not messed with her surgery site once. Soooo much better than the 'cone of shame!' The material is soft and doesn't snag like another brand we bought for a backup. My only complaint is that it is a LOT of material to roll up from the back and velcro to the velcro on top, and it takes a while to do that and doesn't attach well because of the bulk of material, so if you're dog's in a hurry to get outside, that's a problem. My easy fix: since she has to be walked on a leash for 10-14 days after her surgery, my quick solution was to attach a small carabiner with a chip clip to her harness. I just roll up the excess material and clip it with the chip clip; it's faster, easier, and more efficient than trying to velcro the bulky material on top of her back. Other than that, it fits her well, washes and dries well (I've dried it in the dryer once and hung it up the other times and found no difference doing either. Just be smart and don't dry it on high!), we love it, she loves it, and it looks really cute on her! ... show more
