You do need a good grip, or it will not close to lock. If you have any kind of arthritis, this is not the tool for you. The pruner works great on all my flower plants. I thought I would use it on my bougainvillea plants but they are way too thick for this pruner. I love how easy it is to use the pruner and it eliminated my need to bend over since I had recently had abdominal surgery. I set up an empty paper leaf bag and as I cut each stem, I kept the blades together and moved the pruner over the bag and released the stem into the bag. If you don't want to kneel to trim your geraniums by this trimmer. I have used this trimmer to trim my geraniums and using it takes a lot less time then getting down on your knees and crawl around. I am very happy with this product.

Not a bad product. But I would not try to cut really thick branches with this. Its best for light weight usage. Mine worked fine on the two small trees in my front yard with light branches. I tried it on the big tree in back and it had difficulty with the thicker branches.

Had shoulder surgery and bought this to use to harvest okra, prune plants, ext… it worked very well and has the added feature of rotating the end so you don’t have to rotate your grip.
