The box is what it is, nothing to jump up and down about. It looks good though latches seem to be good. the lock does work well. It is a semi hard plastic shell; Quess shouldn't complain too much for $129.00 dollars. should last a while if not to abused. This back box for quads is perfect! Had all the hardware that was needed and was able to install a sound system in it as well, plenty of room for my helmet, a jacket and room to spare for a packed lunch for on the trail!

    • Nice box.
Box is sturdy plastic, and although not "custom made" for any specific ATV, it is adaptable for most. It was easy to mount and has held up on all of our cross country, trail, and street rides. The latches on mine have stayed shut with no problems.......but I have the latches facing rearward. NEVER ride with the opening side into the wind! This box is relatively inexpensive and made from plastic--it is not a steel safe, and not meant to keep valuables in while unattended. There are a multitude of ways to defeat plastic and break in. I put my quad cover, helmets, oil, spare belt, some rags and paper towel, and a few tools in mine. Sometime I carry a lunch, snack and something to drink when on a long trip. Works great for this stuff. My complaint--not a completely dust PROOF seal (90% of out riding is excessively dusty), and small amount of water appears in the bottom (either leaks around the cover or condensation), AND THUS -1 STAR. I've corrected these faults by installing a thicker foam seal (homemade and simple to do) between the box and lid, and drilled TWO 1/16" holes in the low parts of the base....................water and dust problems have disappeared. ... show more

Really nice box, waterproof, solid and secure. I dont have a need for the keyed lock but its nice if you need it. Very sturdy box but i didn't use the U bolts, i used nutcerts and a piece of flat 1/4" aluminum bar for mounting for piece of mind. My dad likes it as a kind of backrest when he rides for hunting since his balance isnt real good anymore at 72. Its on sale as of this review for about $20 less then i paid too. ... show more

    • The latches are very weak.
The latches are very weak. One side keeps popping open and wont stay close even before putting items in the box. The latches are not strong enough to stay close which is a defect in the qualify of the box or I just got a bad box.

Bought this for our 4wheeler and while it's nice to see and fit some items before you buy, many times that is not possible. I checked out this storage trail box quite a bit but then decided to get it and hope for the best. This thing is super good quality, came with a lock and all the mounting hardware and was shipped in a sturdy box. The seal on the hinged lid is very nice and I wanted something to keep the dust out and I know this will do the job! ... show more
