First counter top ice machine we have owned. The fan sounds like your stand mixer running on 1 or 2 speed setting. Makes ice fairly fast. Silent ice drop, no loud ice drop like a freezer ice maker. Ice melts back into the water intake area, so there is no waste water to deal with. Family loves the small ice size, showing against an almond for size comparison. Price seemed fairly reasonable compared to others with the "Sonic" ice description. When I purchased there was $100 click and save coupon. Great little machine. Love the size of the pellets. I stock pile the ice which proved to be a little tricky as it can feaze like a brick in a container. So use a ziplock and break it up about an hour after you put it in the freezer. Other then that works great so far.

It works fine so far, but the way the ice slides into the basket causes the ice to quickly back up and show a "basket full" indicator and stops making ice. It's supposed to do this, of course, but it backs while barely filling the basket. Like a wall of ice cubes up the back to the sensor but very little ice in the front of the basket. Unless you monitor it close, takes a while to get enough to store away. Either a better slide or bring the full sensor out for their current location. ... show more

Love it so far. It is a replacement for a broken ice maker in our refrigerator. Great for husband because he likes to chew ice and isn't supposed to. It just takes a lot of attention to keep the water full and the ice out of the chute so it doesn't stop making the ice

The ice machine does a very good job at making ice. The ice is very similar to Sonic ice and it makes it quickly. The ONLY two gripes are 1) The amount of ice it makes is limited by the size of the basket which is small...it makes about 24 oz of ice at a time before shutting off because the basket is full. 2) The water reservoir isn't very big either so you have to constantly re-fill. Noise-wise it isn't horrible and is on the verge of being just a pleasant white noise. I just wish it made more ice at a time, otherwise it's a great machine. ... show more

    • Easy to Setup and Use
I purchased this for use in our office break area. It is used by six people throughout the day. First ice in under ten minutes but the ice come with a catch. The center is follow which is my the ice is made so fast, but that means it melts faster than solid ice. That quirk aside, it appears well made. My only concern is with the lift mechanism. Does a good job, but I am concerned that it will break. However, I purchased the inexpensive one year warranty, if it breaks, I am inconvenienced but covered. If it make more ice than is used, we store the excess in a small plastic tub in our freezer. ... show more
