This was my first "smart" home purchase. I got it because we had three different lights in our living room that we wanted on timers, but the timers we had only allowed one item to be plugged in at any time. So I got this three-outlet power strip and let me tell you - it is life changing! To be able to have three lights plugged into one power strip and yet all three have their own timer/schedule? Yes please! The power strip was really easy to set up through the KMC Smart app, and then Alexa automatically detected the power strip and added it to my account. There is so much control over each switch, and you'll want to make sure to name them all so that when you tell Alexa to turn off one device, she knows exactly what you mean. For example, we had the Christmas tree, window lights, and a lamp on this power strip. I named each plug by what was plugged into it, so if I wanted to turn on the tree lights earlier than scheduled, I could just ask Alexa to turn the "Christmas tree" on. She says "OK", and the lights are on! I mean, voice activated lights/power? Like I said, life changing! Oh, and there is also still a button to push on the strip to turn power off and on. I am soooooo happy with this purchase. The ease of setting the power strip up and adding the device to my Alexa account was amazing. The only downside here is having to have YET ANOTHER smart device app on my phone to control things - because at some point the integration with Google Home will fail and devices will need to be reconnected, etc, and you'll need the original app to reconnect everything. But all that being said it works well, ran routines perfectly for our Christmas tree lights, etc. Quite happy with it overall. ... show more

Still works with tuya-cloudcutter as of Dec 2024, device comes with 1.1.8 firmware, and I flashed ESPHome on it successfully. Recommended.

    • Good power bar for my Christmas tree.
I bought this so I could turn my tree off and have timer on it. It was easy to set up and link to Alexa. I do wish I didn't have to install another app on my phone. It can control by each plug or the whole bar at once.

I connected two bedside lamps to the smart strip, so now I can turn off the lights with my voice instead of awkwardly stretching and risking knocking things over. It was easy to setup in the app and link to my Echo show.

    • Not really smart it's a slave device to the cloud service.
Without a constant online connection it wont get the cloud triggers, it just a normal plug. I learned this before it arrive but after the cancel window. I wanted to use it to replace a digital outlet time and learned quickly it would be significant downgrade in reliability do to the connectivity liability. It also doesn't seem to support Zigbee natively, which I learned will allow that ability. IMO all smart devices should 100% autonomous with online feature as well. This is an over glorified scripted remote device. It's not "smart" or even aware of the time of day. If going to be a slave device than I need the option of full control of the master device not someones cloud service that could go out business anytime. ... show more
