Love that this product provides great curls without the use of heat! Researched various heatless curlers before choosing this Kitsch Heatless Curler. One of the main selling points was the sustainability feature of being made with chemicals safer for human health and is certified by OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100. I wanted to make sure I started out with a clean product as I would be wrapping my damp hair around this device. I placed the heatless curler and two scrunchies in a mesh garment laundry bag and washed these items using a bit of mild shampoo and cold water on the handwashing cycle of my washing machine. I hung the mesh bag containing the items on a hanger to dry overnight before using. The heatless curler contains a flexible coated wire surrounded by soft material and coated with a satin type fabric. I started the curling process by brushing my hair and spritzing it with water to dampen hair. I utilized a velcro roller on my bangs and ran the heatless curler through the velcro roller - see photo. I found wrapping my hair around the roller to be very easy and took about 5 minutes total. I parted my hair in the back. Then started wrapping the hair near my temple and grabbing a section of hair each time I wrapped. I also lightly spritzed some hair sections with additional water as I went along. The wrapping and grabbing additional sections of hair was similar to the French hair braiding process. I found that wrapping the hair sections close to each other and with a moderate tension worked well. At the end of each side I utilized a scrunchie to secure the end of the hair to the curler. When finished, I found that I could wrap the two ends of the heartless curler around each other at the lower back of my head, but wasn't certain if this would be comfortable to sleep on; I used a hair tie to secure the two ends of the heatless curler together at the back of my head instead. I have the Kitsch satin scarf, but didn't think to wrap my hair with it. Squeezing the heatless curler, I thought it felt very soft. I wore the curler to bed and laying on the curler took me about 20 mins to get use to. I was able to move the curler off my ear when sleeping on my side and found this was a comfortable position. I was also able to comfortably sleep on my back. Again, it was just a matter of taking about 20 minutes to get use to. I kept the curler in for approximately 8 hours. Removing the curler was very easy, the hair slipped away easily and didn't tangle at all. I like a bit tighter curl, so I used my fingers to separate the curls just a bit. If I would have ran my fingers through the curls, I think I could have created a looser curl or wave. I did not use a styling product in my hair and the curl has lasted throughout the day - I have fine hair that takes to curling easily. When I was finished utilizing the heatless curler, I placed the curler and scrunchies in the mesh laundry bag I had washed it in (not included) and put it on a hanger to completely dry; I wanted to make sure it was completely dry before storing it away. I was very skeptical about this product working well. After reading reviews about others with thick, naturally wavy hair, I decided to try it out. My hair had been washed the night before, so it was completely dry and had been a full 24 hours since being washed. I put a couple splashes of water on my hands and combed through my hair with my fingers. After brushing it out, I used the product as the directions stated. I had to do one side twice because it was too loose and falling out. After wrapping my hair tightly, it did stay in all night. It might’ve taken about 5 minutes to put in place, which is great too. I didn’t sleep with the clip holding it in place, on top and didn’t find it to be uncomfortable while sleeping at all. In the morning, I pulled it out and my hair looked a little ridiculous with tons of curls. After brushing it out and letting it loose for an hour or so, it looked surprisingly good. My goal was to have more organized waves than I have naturally and it worked. I was very pleasantly surprised. The waves lasts all day too. Next time I’ll be more careful about how I part my hair and divide up the sections before winding it around the rod, for a more finished look. I’ve seen the influencer videos showing perfectly curled hair just like Rapunzel. If only my hair looked like that after using this. There is a learning curve to getting this to work for my hair. Would be wonderful to pack for my overseas trip instead of packing a hair curling appliance. But I’ve tried this 3x now. I wrap my hair while it’s damp and go to sleep. Get up in the morning and while the curls in the front are ok, my hair in the back looks flat and not curled. Not a good look for business trips. I do like that it’s made of silk just like my pillowcases. But overall I probably won’t use it again. I still give it 4 stars for being silk, and for those who can get it to work as seen in videos, I say this is a great alternative to using heat on your hair. Bottom line, it’s worth a try but didn’t work for me. ... show more

I used only 1 just like the ad. My hair is to my bra line and the curls bring it up probably a good 1-2”, and yes I have some layers in my hair. I have not brushed my hair at all before taking these photos. I removed the hair rod and ran my fingers through it a few times to separate the curls and this is what I had in seconds. Wanted to show how fun it is without me doing anything with it yet. I’ve had classy up-dos, ponytails, side pony tail (over one shoulder), and also just left the curls as is with a little styling. Crazy to have this body and curl in my hair with ONE rod and not 30 curlers that can cause frizzy ends. And, no more curling iron with heat that can cause damage. - I put it in over night and I have all these curls. I can even go for 3-4 hours and have a lot of extra body without the tight curls. - 😊 I spray some water on my hair before I work with the hair rod and that keeps my hair soft and smooth as I’m working with it. - I do set the rod a little more away from my face (it’s behind my ears almost) and it helps give my hair around my face more of a full look instead of close curls tight to my face. - Super easy to put in my hair and comfy enough to sleep on. - I pull the ends of the rod gently towards the back of my head and attach with a scrunchy and I can walk around the house at night time and not look silly.
