I have had KitchenAid scissors for years. After many years of cutting open packages, trimming fat off chicken or cutting it into slices, and all manner of use/abuse, they started to get less sharp. When I cut some carpet padding and the fibers got stuck between the handles, it caused the blades to not be as close together, so the scissors were unable to cut. I bought two new sets on Amazon with even prettier colored handles. They are super sharp and fun to cut with again, making easy work of opening bags and trimming meat again. I love the KitchenAid scissors! I have other cheaper, less rugged scissors for cutting wrapping paper, but the KitchenAid scissors are the best ones I have - super sharp, comfortable to use, and great for all matter of jobs. Get two pairs in case one pair gets misplaced. Warning: The plastic container the scissors come in is very tough, brittle plastic. While I was trying to use my old KitchenAid scissors that weren't cutting very well anymore to break open the package, a sharp piece of the plastic flew off and hit my face. Luckily, I wear glasses so it did not go into my eye but it did hurt my cheek, and I asked my husband if I was bleeding.
