They do what scissors do best! CUT! I don't use them often, I bought these for a pair at my desk since there has been so many times a pair of scissors would have came in handy instead of a pocket knife. So far they have been doing a good job for the random times a pair of scissors are needed! If you are looking for a pair that will be used a ton... they aren't very ergonomic and I could see my hands getting sore if they were a tool I had to use a lot. These shears are heavy duty and well made. These shears are easy to hold, easy to clean and the color is easily noticeable in a drawer with tongs and can openers. The protective cover snaps in place, keeps them closed and ready to use. These are superior to the generic ones I used for years!
